The Mascara Thread

Thanx, miu_miu! ^_^

I went for Dior Iconic & I'm speechless in a good meaning :woot: It does everything what it promises :buzz: I have never had such beautiful eyelashes

I just wanted to update on what I'd said earlier in the thread. I have now tried the Chanel mascara, and I have to say that Dior Iconic wins hands down on being far more spectacular in every way. I would love to know what people think of YSL Faux Cils though, it's on offer in my local superdrug so I may snap it up if its good.

Oh, and my lashes are very straight, almost to the point of pointing downwards, and they're thin and rubbish. Iconic gives me dolly eyes, and so does Elizabeth Arden Ceramide mascara, which has nowhere near the press it should do, it's amazing.

i've got YSL Faux Cils and must say am a bit disappointed. it's a wee bit clumpy and comes off worse than any of the mascaras i'd tested before.

when reading miu_miu's comment about Dior Iconic i almost bought it until i got to the part about getting it off. : [

probably i should something stronger than Avene make-up remover.

I have no problems with getting off Dior Iconic, plus, I apply 2 coats. I use the most gentel jell without any soap and oils and it comes off super easy so no problems for me

Oh...i'm so curious about the Dior Iconic now! :woot:
I'm happy with my Diorshow, but after reading all these good reviews about the Iconic, i'll definitely give it a try.

Ive been doing the OCM (oil cleansing method...see thread) with grapeseed oil for years with amazing results so Ive never needed anything, not even oil cleanser, for mascara.
So natural, easy, and perfectly removes even the most stubborn waterproof liquid eyeliner&mascara. And produces great skin!

On another note, I like the super-bestselling "Fiber Wig" mascara they have in Japan. Builds up very long, very natural with a satiny sheen, doesnt smudge. I didnt like the Bourjois one, it clumps badly.

Is there really such a thing as a mascara that holds curl???

Has anyone tried the Guerlain Le 2? I'm really tempted by it but given it's decandently high price I'd love to hear some user feedback before givin in and buying it :)

I've tried it all and I swear by Estee Lauder MagnaScopic. It looks awesome, stays put, has a nice texture and you don't have to scrub your eyes out to get it off at the end of the day.

Can you who have tried Dior Iconic post pics of your lashes before and after? Would be grrreat ! :D

I don't think you should be put off; the results are just amazing (for me) :woot: I've been using it about a week now, and actually it's not that it's difficult to get off! It's just that I am usually very lazy about taking off my mascara, and everything else I used flaked off by the end of the day so I never bothered. But Iconic stays put so I have to take the effort to remove it properly, but when I do this, there's not really a problem getting it off. So it's more a complaint about me than the mascara :blush:

I got taken in my by it. It was utterly rubbish. I might as well have bought some crappy collection 2000 mascara for all the good it did. Yes, it has two brushes, and yes one is small so you can get small lashes, which is very nice, but don't expect any volume, any curl, or any length, just very black lashes.

Does Iconic curl the lashes? Mine are almost Asian, there is no curl at all and I abuse them every day with my Shiseido eye lash curler...I'm so tired of Maybelline Sky High Curves, it does hold the curl but that's it. Not added length or volume. :(

^ maybe try to use the sky high curve thing and then layer other mascara on top, or simply use the skyhigh brush to brush on other kinda mascara. personally keep my paranomic curl (sp?!) brush for ages and it was the nicest and most natural brush i ever keep.

I can't layer that mascara...it just sits there once it's dried, you can't do anything with it. It's my only mascara too, so I'm interested in Iconic...

well, it really is rather good. not clumpy, the volume you get is pretty natural yet very defined.
what amused me the most was watching the length magically appear while i was applying it. : ]
i've tried 2 coats. wonderful.
and to get it off easily i used oily make-up remover.

thanks miu_miu

Well I just tried Diorshow for the first time today and I have to say, I am impressed. I tend to just go for definition when it comes to my mascara, since I have nice lashes already, but I may have to spring for a tube of this before much longer.

The new l'oreal extreme volume collagene is fantastic.
Lots of volume and definition, the two are hard to come by together. NO clumps!

I'm really curious. I want to try the Dior Iconic mascara now too!!! I'm still working my way through my chanel one that I got in august. Dior is next on the list.
