The Mascara Thread

So has anybody else tried the Spinlash mascara? I gave it a whirl today for the first time and I am loving it. My lashes look longer and more curled (I never curl my lashes, since they have a decent natural curl) and it is definitely an eye-opening mascara...it really opens up the eye area without being overly dramatic. It's also half the price of the Lancome vibrating mascara, so this is a more budget conscious option.

Has anyone got any photos of themselves with Givenchy Phenomen'eyes on? I want to know how good it is!

I've read that the brush makes a big mess, which I can well believe ... I went by to buy it before they had any, and now that I'm reading reviews, I'm thinking it's a good thing. I don't need fiddly mascara, thank you very much ...

PS Who makes Spinlash?

I use Givency Captiv Eyes, not Phenomen'eyes, sorry :flower:

i suggest ysl everlong masara, makes wonders, also clinique naturally glossy mascara.

i heard really bad review about anna sui new mascara. its a total mess

Nayone got any iformation on the new Collossal mascara by Maybelline ? The one Julia Stegners advertising for ?

I recently bought it and tried it out a few days ago. At first, I wasn't all that impressed, but after a few more coats, my lashes did seem to have more volume. Not 9x the volume as the mascara is advertising, but I was pleased. The brush is HUGE though; I was extra careful to not poke myself in the eye or get mascara on my lids.

I must say that any and all kinds of Dior mascara is all talk.

I've tried Blackout and Iconic, and each have done nothing but coat my eye lashes like Cover Girl and Maybelline can. Don't buy.

I disagree strongly with what you say. The difference between iconic and maybelline is huge as far as I'm concerned. My lashes are straight and thin, and iconic makes them separate and curl. Maybelline does nothing really.

I remember when I tried maybellines great lash mascara. I didn't like it and it didn't stay in place and was runny. I'm going to give loreal's volume shocking mascara a try I usually stick with max factor's 2000 calorie but this time around I just want to use something different.

I bought Great Lash when I was a teen and it was great then, but I stopped buying it because I'm sure they changed the formula. Now I use Diorshow, I think it's good at lengthening but it flakes a bit. Now I'm interested in MACs Dazzlelash, anyone use that?

.

HR lash queen is my HG mascara-I've tried almost all the market brands and only lash queen works best!

Loreal sent me a sample of that new tubing stuff (well, new for Loreal) and it's pretty decent.

Otherwise, Mac Pro Lash is my go-to.

Can anyone recommend a really good eyelash treatment? I noticed I've been loosing more eyelashes lately, it wasn't that many so I wasnt worried but today I woke up and there were lashes all around my eyes. There must have been at least 10-15 that I lose  Can it be since I dont remove the mascara completly at night? Or from wearing false eyelashes? I only wear them once or twice a week.

im using Maybelline Lash Stylist. black & waterproof always! i like it because it holds a curl and its thickening, i keep the older more dried tube for touch ups. so its like a cycle, i get a new one then use old one for touch ups because it doesnt have too much product on it.

im thinking of trying L'Oreal Telescopic because ive heard some good things and its got a skinny brush! i dunno why but fat brushes always makes me worry about the person putting mascara on, like OMG girl you'll poke your eye out!(like A Christmas Story, you'll shoot your eye out!)

^I might get Lash Stylist if it's that good...I know you're Asain, and even though I'm not, I seem to have the same issues with mascara  My lashes are straight, actually they grow downwards...so I really need something that holds the curl once I'm done abusing my lashes with my Shiseido-curler. I've been buying Maybelline's Sky High Curves for years, but there's no volume, no nothing, just black curled lashes.

i love my Shiseido(<- ya know im not even sure on the pronounciation) eyelash curler too! i tried Sky High Curves before as well so i know what you mean, it was just disappointing. Maybelline Lash Discovery was dry and clumped. the trick with Lash Stylist though is getting a clean curl like lashes that have good separation. if they criss cross then Lash Stylist will clump! thats why i spend more time on getting a good curl or else!

Because it's relevant for this thread, I wrote about achieving natural-looking mascara on the "Fair/pale-skinned" thread. Most of the info applies to all skintones, so if anyone's interested, it's post #294, page 20.

people who have a problem with holding a curl should get the shiseido mascara base. it is amazingggggggg. it makes putting ANY mascara on so much better AND it holds a curl. one advice is to put on your mascara right after the base before it dries
