The Mascara Thread

sometimes the cheaper mascaras work better than the exspensive ones. i like maybelline and loreal ones too.

For me L'Oreal Telescopic seperates and defines each lash without clumpiness.
2000 Calorie Max Factor thickens.
L'Oreal Exact Brush/Volume Shocking makes them longer.

I've heard VERY GOOD things on the Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes mascara, it does looks scary though haha.

I just realised (a bit late, I know  ) that it is impossible to wear non-waterproof mascara at night without having it smudge all over my eyes (the raccoon look definitely doesn't suit me). I want to buy some good black waterproof mascara but I'm lost. Any suggestions? :flower: Thanks.

It looks like a medieval weapon but it's fantastic lol. My one and only complaint is that taking it off isn't exactly easy, it dries VERY quickly so if you get it on your cheek it takes quite a bit of water to scrub it off. For what it does for my lashes though I don't care I still love it lol

is the givenchy one the mascara that isnt a brush its like a ball with spikes??

Maybelline Lash Expansion WP is pretty brilliant

Thats the one..I saw a girl do a review of it in a beauty blog and compared it to her other eyelash that didn't have it on a looked realllllly good :D

oo can you post a link of the review carly s? i saw the mascara in my sephora email today and it caught my attention. all the reviews seem to be fairly good. so i wonder if you use it like a normal mascara? (hold horizontally, or use it vertically?)

If you search "Givenchy phenomen'eyes" on Youtube a good deal of reviews will pop up. :flower:

I know! But Maybelline does some great mascaras once in a while

Yep, it does. ^_^ And I just realised that my Maybelline Sky High Curves is in the WP version. I had no luck trying out the WP Volum' Express but my Sky High never fails me.

I'm more of a lancome fan. I bought the hypnose, which was good for volume, but I prefer length. I tried Diorshow and was really disappointed. It lengthens sure, but lancome has better mascaras for that.

I recently bought Estee Lauder's Doublewear mascara. I was thinking about getting Lancome again (as my Diorshow was nearing the end of its life) but the saleslady really sold me on the Doublewear mascara.

My thoughts on the Estee Lauder mascara: disappointing. It's lengthening mascara, but Lancome does a way better job at lengthening. On the bright side, it doesn't flake or smudge, AT ALL. So if you plan on crying, this is a pretty good mascara. It will look the same at 9am as 5pm.

But I want more length. So I'm not buying it again. I figure I just blew thirty bucks. *sigh*

I was browsing on Sephora last night and noticed some Dior DiorShow mascaras, and I was wondering if anyone ever used them before and what they are like before I spend 24$ (which is more canadian) on it.. ^_^

I used to have both Chanel mascaras, Inimitable and Exceptionnel, but I decided to try YSL again (I had Volume Effet Faux Cils), so I bought Everlong in #7 Ever Steel Blue. I'm keeping Exceptionnel though.
Works for me! I'm not an expert and I love it because it can be applied easily and that's all I need.

To be honest, I think Diorshow is kind of overhyped... The first couple of times I use it I love how black it makes my lashes look, but then I remember how much it flakes
