The Mascara Thread

I don't know about one but I have Clinique Lash Power™ Mascara and it is horrible. The wand always ends up getting in my eye and scratching it somehow. And the formula is too thin.

i haven't had luck with ANY clinique mascaras. all they seem to do is tint my lashes, but they don't lengthen or thicken worth a hoot.

The High Definition mascara is a nice one, albeit extremely tricky to use. I almost picked up a set of two plus an eyelash curler for $14 and change at the CCO yesterday. High Impact is kind of meh, though.

Is the Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara anything like Lash Blast? I'm in Canada and can't get MF,but am traveling to the states soon and am tempted to pick one up. But it looks like the packaging and the wand are the same as Lash Blast.

Has anyone ever heard of a mascara that is more of stain/dye? I saw it in a magazine but don't remember who makes it.

I'm sure this has been asked, but I don't want to go through all the pages..

Can anyone recommend a mascara that actually doesn't flake or smudge?

I've heard good things about Blinc Kiss Me..

Oh and what do you guys think of Clinique Naturally Glossy?

You were right. High Impact isn't amazing at all :( May stick with Lancome Hypnose or Fatale. Am on the lookout for a really dramatic one though!

What is DiorShow like??

I truly recomend clinique naturally glossy. Iits really good. Also Yves saint Laurents everlong mascara. those 2 are the best:blush::flower:

I used to have both Chanel mascaras, Inimitable and Exceptionnel, but I decided to try YSL again (I had Volume Effet Faux Cils), so I bought Everlong in #7 Ever Steel Blue. I'm keeping Exceptionnel though.
Works for me! I'm not an expert and I love it because it can be applied easily and that's all I need.

i bought this mascara two weeks ago and funny enough i bought a chanel marine colour....but the colour on the YSL is crazy amazing and i loved its application...i switch between chanel and YSL...but this is a limited edition mascara that is unbelievable...the colour is to die for!!! its between navy/dark gray u cant really figure out what colour it is...especially when its on ur lashes...i love it!!!

I used Clinique's high impact mascara last night, and I really like it. It's great for day to day wear I think. Lengthens lashes without clumping & it's not too dramatic.

I'm loyal to Maybelinne Sky High Waterproof mascara in black. Been using it for at least 5 years now. Works great for me AND is one of the cheaper ones!

I've tried a million mascaras and I really loved diorshow iconic until latisse made my eyelashes long enough to touch my eyelids. I'd go to class all day and then realize I had black smudges all over my face the entire time. I got the new waterproof "extreme" version, it doesnt smudge and I think it might be even better than the original in terms of how it looks.

When it comes to Diorshow, I find that I don't have a very dramatic look-I am wanting to try Iconic though because I hate large spooly brushes. It does help to curl my lashes a tiny bit. It could be that my little sample tube is older, but at the same time, my lashes are already long anyways.

does it show up blue/grey even on dark lashes?

i've got very dark brown almost black eye lashes and it gives it this dark blue ( almost navy) with grey look....its an intersting unique colour..its not OUT there...but its attractive especially on dark lashes...and it makes your eyes pop out for some reason!!! i see the difference when i am using it and using just the normal black one...ia m totally in love it with!!!

Has anyone used Givenchy Phenomenon'Eyes? Is it worth the money? The brush put me off, but i've heard good things about it so...

The Phenomenon'Eyes brush isn't as difficult to use as it looks and it did make my lashes look good. But I had the same problem as with DiorShow - smudges!

I think it's the same as Guessgirl was saying, I have quite long lashes and I find that some mascaras leave black smudges where they touch my skin.

What are good mascaras that will work for someone with curly lashes to make them thicker and longer, and more noticeable?

I've been trying some new mascaras lately. Normally I'm a Diorshow addict, but I wanted to see if there were any cheaper mascaras that were just as good.

First I tried Maybelline Full 'n' Soft Waterproof, and I have to say it comes pretty close to Diorshow in my book. Major volume, no flakes or smudges, and it doesn't give my lashes that crusty feel.

I wanted to give CG Lashblast another try, but once again I got rid of it after a few uses. The volumizing/lengthening was negligible and at the end of the day it flaked all over my face.

Next I tried Maybelline Colossal. It was just okay - some volume, but it tends to smudge easily. Maybe the new waterproof version is better.

At the moment I'm using Max Factor 2000 Calorie Waterproof. This one is pretty good - lots of volume and no flakes or smudges, but it does make my lashes hard and crusty.

There are a couple new ones coming out that I want to try - there's a Givenchy Phemonen'eyes drugstore dupe out now in Europe by L'oreal called Telescopic Explosion.

Also Maybelline is coming out with a vibrating mascara in July called Define-a-Lash Pulse Perfection.

Can't wait to try both of these.
