The Model Agency Mega Thread (January 2004 - March 2010)

How long is "show season" for them? I realize that it's around fashion week but when does it approximately begin/end for them? How much before the actual fashion week and how much, if any, after?

That's excatly what I was giong to ask, too.

A week and a half after show season is when most of the agencies start looking at new faces again.

F/W show season castings and shows-First part of january till the end of feb/first of march (NY,london, Milan,Paris).

S/Summer show season castings and shows-End of August till the first part of October

Haute Couture show castings have a slightly different schedule

But I just want to say that if a stunner shows up at their office or emails amazing pictures, they are not going to pass it up....no matter when.

iqmodels.ru has the most tasteless site i've ever seen. they have a section labeled "given up" listing the models who have quit. i mean common. it's like labeling someone "so and so..doesn't try hard...didn't make it, etc."

i totally agree with that..

^ Especially the part about the "given up" girl has annoyed me so many times when I visit their site. It doesn't matter what that girls family did, it's just wrong, wrong, WRONG. Makes IQ look really bad. They are obviously having success, so it's extra surprising they are so unprofessional like that.

i hope so. i'm honestly surprised they haven't been sued for those quotes above. setting one girl above the others..as a standard. it's inevitable.. all the other girls will start to hate her because she is the favorite. it's like sibling rivalry. you're going to naturally fight for praise. and the given up section seems like it was placed to get back at that girl and their family. she's the only one in there. they could have just as easily placed her in the retired category and for christ's sake she's only 14! it's cruel to mock her and her family when she's as such an impressionable age, and takes what you say to heart.

to say that i was shocked is an understatement. i cannot believe an agency runs itself in this manner and shamelessly shouts their mockery all over their site. apparently they don't care or don't understand that girls are sensitive creatures and nobody deserves to be addressed, even if it is to the general public, in such a manner.

ughhh..if u look back at the past updates...they have pictures of closeups of the models ***es, and pictures of the girls taking naked pictures of themselves..its SO unprofessional and just wrong (most of the girls are underage too!)

yeah I actually liked the fact that they put heir model's candids up but when I saw those pictures I was like WTF?What are they thinking?
