The announcement is a new website called Pottermore.com.
But hopefully, they will tell us what exactly that is and very soon.

The suspense is killing me. If she uses this new site to announce a new book, I will probably explode from excitement.

according to lainey her lawyer has said that it's not about a new book

She has mentioned in a few interviews that she's been working on several books.

I think the website could be an interactive/social version of JK Rowling's old site (which was amazing).
But I think JK Rowling will use it to directly interact with fans and tell them what she's up to (i.e., new books, etc).
