classic1908, thanks for the photos. I think the silhouette is fine on Niki Blondsky but I think the fabric could be heavier. Chandra looks good and Sara is lovely.

Welcome JetSetGo.;) I have the belly issue as well and it does make it hard to find clothing that fits well. Would love to have a more hourglass frame with a flatter stomach, but that is just not to be. I must admit though, that I've been eating much healthier the last several months and it has helped me lose inches around the middle, which is a good place to lose for health reasons.

Thank you. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. :flower:

Eating healthier is great. I have totally quit "dieting" and am just trying to accept my body for what it is, and feed it what it wants. Has anyone heard of Geneen Roth? She's been a big inspiration to me to stay off the scale and listen to what my hunger is really telling me.

And while I so wish my body was more of an hourglass shape, I feel very lucky to be a happy and healthy person. And knowing that, I really try not to obsess about my imperfections.

Isn't Marjorie in the same white dress as the last image on the previous page?? It's still her posture. There's something about her shoulders... stand tall woman, you're wearing Chanel!!

I like Sara Ramirez's dress but her figure looks completely corseted into submission. At least Chandra and Nikki look like they can breathe without cracking a rib!

Yes, she's a bit slouched and sad looking.
Prop 'em up, girl!

^ Better posture would be good, but failing that, better tailoring for how she's actually going to wear the dress w/b good ;)

Nikki always has such a gorgeous smile on her face :flower:

I 'm shaped kind of like a V (minus boobs :( ). Since my belly is the biggest part of me, I have to get a big size to fit around my middle, then belt them tight enough so they don't slide down, which they do anyway. It's kind of ridiculous... Grrr.

And now I'm shopping for a wedding dress, and let me tell you – it ain't fun.

I have the same problem with pants- it's so annoying

Good luck with the wedding dress - I hope you find something soon :flower: Have you seen Trinny and Susanna's body type guide? That might give you some new ideas: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/li...6&in_page_id=1879&in_page_id=1879&expand=true

frk-frost Thanks! And thank you for letting me know I am not alone in constantly having to pull up my pants...

I love that chart. I think I'm a Goblet! :p
hahahaha.

fashionista-ta Thank you. I will check it out! :flower:

Nicole's dress was by igigi http://www.igigi.com/

The commentary on Chandra's dress were jokes about the Dreamgirls costumes department want their dress back.

I didn't like Sara's shoes with her dress.

Nicole Blonsky. Love the color, not sure of the overall silhouette:

Chandra Wilson:

[Deleted quoted pix--just a reminder to please check your quotes for pix & delete them.]

But since I'm tall, I have to add Sara Ramirez:

I saw some of the Chandra/Dreamgirls smack. It was definitely 60s-esque, but my older sister was a teen in those days so I appreciate it.

Chandra's dress was surprising but I think it was cool. Very Dreamgirls but in a good way I think - glitzy and glam - with a retro style. Also something different from the usual stuff recommended for plus sized women. Some people might shy away from horizontal stripes and that much gold shimmer but she went for it and I think it looked nice, perhaps an odd match for the event but I thought she looked nice.

And I agree that Sara Ramirez's dress looked too corseted. Everything was too tight for my liking.

Nicki Blonski has been wearing a lot from IGIGI lately, I wonder if she has some sort of deal with them.

^^
I think Blonsky does endorse Igigi, and I read somewhere else that the owner says Blonsky's clothes are custom-made for her because she's so short.

Here is Jordin Sparks in Dolce & Gabbana. Sorry I couldn't find a full-length shot of her, but she looked nice lip-synching the National Anthem at the Super Bowl:

^ Great example of the difference a silhouette can make ;) She should def show off her waist as in the first pic ... though I'm sure the 2nd outfit is more comfortable.

Wearing Ali Rahimi (sp?)

^ Oh, I think she looks really great there--very happy  (and love the dress & hair)

That D&G dress looks great on Jordan Sparks. Very nice!

^^
Camryn does look nice. She also looks a bit slimmer.

As much as I love Jilly from Philly, this look is off. First off, the hairpiece is not really that full and the dress isn't completely flattering, IMO:

^ That is too much lame ;) How do I get the proper accent?

I saw a girl the other day wearing knee-length patent riding boots + a long metallic gold tunic & I thought to myself, new rule: only one shiny item at a time :p If you know you're going to be wearing yards upon yards of fabric, I personally think it should not all shine at that level ...
