Oh yea. I very find cute shoes from there.. and when I do they skip right over size 11 and I'm like.. dude.. wtf.. I'm not size 10, and I'm not size 12 lol

I also hate how most of the bigger sized shoes are heels, I can't walk in the thin heels I have to have thick ones and a good size sole on the shoes or I'll fall on my booty. ^_^

I'm tall, and um... big boned- and I wear skinny heels- it just takes some practice.

I'm just refering to the quality of the shoes- or the lack thereof.

Pink pleather LOOKS like pink pleather- there's no way around it. 8 dollars shoes, look like 8 dollar shoes, no matter what

They're all kind of gross, I think.

I'm way overweight.. I won't say big-boned b/c I'm not .. I have medium or maybe even small bones lol

And it's not that I don't want to wear them, but practice won't ever help me because I'm a total clutzoid. lol

no I really am big boned. I look normal from a distance, but up close I'm all attack of the fifty foot woman.

I decided to accept it rather than fight it, that's why i wear heels

I could look like an off duty female basketball player, or try and go for "supermodel"

As I hate sports, I decided to go for optoin B

I edited what I said because I didn't realize what I was saying.. My head's not right today because of my allergies and I'm basically sneezing my brain out.

I don't have money to dress like a supermodel.. kinda wish I did. I love drawing my own designs though. Not good at drawing though either. I'm 5'10 and not the size I'm supposed to be.. I could be a size 10 maybe lower. I say lower because I've been this tall a while and I was chubby when I was size 12/14 so I think size 8/10 would be a perfect size for me.

you can always try diane von furstenberg. her dresses are always stunning.

and i agree with whoever said that monteray at the end of september is gonna be a bit chillier

I've been looking at Diane Von Furstenberg dresses online. I live out in the middle of nowhere, so to actually try them on I will have to drive like 3 hours!

Most of them are prints. Shouldn't I stay away from prints since I am so...big?

Also check Banana Republic. They have jersey dresses in XL, but be careful because they could have prints or be sleeveless. I like Banana's jersey dresses. I haven't tried a DVF wrap, but I think I may try one soon.

anywhere I've ever looker DVH goes up to size 12 and stops

where can it be gotten in higher?

I like banana republic, though I haven't seen their selection lately.

J Crew online is also nice for a lot of things- though most of their dresses are sleveless.

Depending on the weather you could try a spaghetti strap dress with a lightweight 3/4 sleeve cardigan over it.

Thats one of my favorite looks

If I can find a dress like this in my size will it look terrible on a size 12/14. I'm hoping I can get at least a few pounds off before the wedding.

I think shirts with a short 'cut in sleve' are very ok for bigger arms, just an idea. (like this)

And another thing, texastess, you sound kind of unsecure about the way you will look at the wedding, but I (as an plussize myself) can promise you that you look 10 times better if you feel good about yourself. So my tip is, relax, go to a spa or something the day before, make sure your hair and make-up looks good, and you will look great, and others will notice that! Good luck with everything and have fun!:flower:

I don't think so!
It depends where you cary your weight. if you have a defined waistline, a dress like that will flatter your curves-

Like Kan-i-ta said, being relaxed and comfortable in your own skin counts for a lot

I do have a very defined waist.

Thanks for everybodys help! I have to get used to myself at this size and I am extremely self-conscious. I'm trying to work past that.

im kind of resurrecting this thread..or attempting too..but i just wanted to know if any of you guys wear skinny jeans? i have straight leg jeans and i love them..especially with my white hi top all stars...

This is me in my Dorothy Perkins skinny jeans. UK 16

I haven't tried the skinny jean style yet, though I really like the look when I see it. Because I'm both short and plus size I'll most likely stick with boot cut jeans or trouser style jeans with heels even though boot cut is supposedly out right now. Those styles just give me a longer line, especially the trouser style, which are difficult to find.

As a tallish tweener (missy up top, generally plus on bottom because of 20-inch, muscular thighs and large butt), I don't want to do the skinny jeans. It veers into the dangerous tapered pant look on me. I am going to stick with bootcuts.
