I find that many restaurants are now starting to offer more veggie options. For instance, I went to PF Chang's last night for dinner with a friend and noticed that the menu had an entire vegetarian section. I got Vegetarian Mo Po Tofu, which was superb! However, it is still quite frequently the case that the "vegetarian" options at other restaurants are simply carb laden meals that do not contain meat. They are not necessarily nutritious. While I believe in indulging now and then, I also believe in putting food in my body that it can really use. Not junk 24/7.
I don't have any problems when it comes to eating with co-workers. Luckily, a co-worker of mine is also a vegetarian, so most people in the office are aware that they need to select restaurants with options for us. In my line of work (marketing/business), I find that many of the women are very health conscious and concerned about the appearance of their bodies overall. They tend to want to eat heathfully, which frequently means salad bar for lunch! We go to this one place called "Salad Creations" where you can select from endless possibilities and make some really yummy salads and wraps. Plus, the servers wear berets with vegetables on them which is highly entertaining.
