The X-Factor 2009 ... Do not post stills from the show or Rex Features (copyrighted)

I'm not disagreeing with you here as Cowell did actually have a point for once. But Kandy Rain are wanting to leave their stripping background behind and then turned up on the first show looking like strippers so.........

Yeah, they said they wanted to show the public they can sing and leave their past behind, not that they would dress different even though it's procative but , that it's just them, isn't it?... shame they are gone, i think they could have been a kind of ***** Cat Dolls if you know what i mean

I don't exactly hate them, because they do entertain. But its all about singing, and there both ****.

TBH if they are still here then this is no longer a singing competition

I'm not a fan but i don't hate them either. As Louis said: " you don't need to have a good voice to be a pop star" he is so right ,i could actually name a few :innocent:

atleast those who don't have a good voice aren't annoying and don't come in 2's

Somebody rip them please they are one of the best things from The X-Factor that American Idol doesn't have.

The Daily Mail reports:

Louis Walsh pulls out of X Factor shows to attend 'best friend' Stephen Gately's funeral

Louis Walsh will miss this week’s live The X Factor show to attend close friend Stephen Gately’s funeral.

Walsh has been very heavily affected by the star’s sudden death and will not feature on either Saturday night or on the Sunday night results show.

He will instead attend the Boyzone singer’s funeral which takes place on Saturday at St Laurence O’Toole’s Church in Dublin.

...

Walsh revealed today had met Boyzone just last week to discuss the remaining tracks for the band’s comeback album. He said Gately had 'looked healthier than ever'.

'The boys are devastated. It's like they have lost their very, very best friend, and me too,' Walsh said. 'Nobody can believe it - the guys, me, nobody. We are in shock,' he said.

X Factor sources say Walsh has been in contact with the acts he is mentoring – Miss Frank, and John & Edward – over the phone.

But there is no doubt the groups - traditionally the weakest category in the competition - will miss his support on both nights.

He missed last week's Sunday night show after learning of the news. Kandy Rain, one of his acts, were the first to be booted off the show.

i feel totally sorry for Louis

whats going with Lloyd? i heard something happened to him

Cheryl to mime on X Factor: reports

Cheryl Cole will perform her debut solo single on X Factor this weekend, but, according to reports, the Girls Aloud star will be miming.
According to the Daily Mail, Cheryl will record her vocals several hours before X Factor goes to air, and will then mime during the ‘live’ show. An X Factor spokesperson has confirmed the performance of Fight For This Love won’t be totally live: “Cheryl will be recording her music performance earlier in the day with a live studio audience to ensure she can fully continue with her judging commitments on The X Factor later that evening.”
This comes after Alexandra Burke was accused of lip-synching during her performance of Bad Boys on last week’s X Factor results show, while, just minutes, later, Robbie Williams clearly sang 100% live.
In my opinion, Alexandra seemed to be singing live (in some parts, at least) but over the top of a pre-recorded backing track. If Alexandra did mime, I’m sure it wasn’t her idea – the whole marketing campaign for Bad Boys is based around the dancing and the spectacle, more than the song itself. I have no doubt that when the time comes to promote Alexandra’s next single, thought to be the ballad Overcome, she will belt it out on telly without any need for a backing track.
As for Cheryl, her vocals aren’t as strong as protégé Alexandra’s, so I’m not surprised she’s decided to take the safe option and pre-record her performance. What do you think – should a judge on a live talent show, where all the contestants are made to sing 100% live, be allowed to lip-synch?

It's great when a performer can manage a complicated dance routine and sing really strongly at the same time, but I can see how it'll make for a better TV show if she concentrates on the dancing and uses a pre-recorded vocal.

I don't expect Cheryl to be capable of singing six octaves while doing her routine, in the same way that I don't expect Shirley Bassey to breakdance while she's belting out her classics. Each performer should just concentrate on what works best in terms of their own particular skills.

I don't mind if she doesn't sing live, she's still singing the song anyway..
Plus, i've never really liked live singing. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does.

Cheryl is singing live in the performance... it's just not being shown live. She sang live at the time it was recorded. At least that's what all the papers have clarified today..

I really don't think John & Edward are going to go. I have an awful feeling we'll see them around for quite a few weeks.
