Trends You Are Sick Of #1

colored wayfarers
leggings
ripped jeans
head scarves worn hippie style
excessive amounts of jewelry and basically all sorts of accessory overload

I don't understand leggings. I've seen a few people who wear the ones that go to their ankles, and it looks great (sometimes), but the ones that stop at the calves just end up making people look about fifteen pounds heavier and two inches shorter. As far as Southern towns go with fashion, Athens is pretty fashionable (its a college town, with a great music scene), but this particular trend just will not die here. The worst is the sorostitutes that wear them with their clingy jersey dresses, chunky plastic jewelry, and white slingbacks.

hmm I don't know, but it seems to me that leggings have rather slimming effect, because 1 of my friends, who's a little overweight looks good in them. But on me they have "leg-shorting" effect (I'm slim, but petite), I bought myself a pair of black leggings about a year ago, but I have never worn them, not my style I guess ;)

What I absolutely don't get is a trend over here in Cologne. Boys and girls wear jogging or gym pants (every day from morning till evening) with chucks, fake leather jackets, a hoddie underneath and a Kufiya around the neck. Girls often wear bright cheap jewelry and a fake leather jacket (to match the pants  ) with this look and most boys dyed the end of their hair red or blonde. :yuk:

I started with blasphemy... That's not a nice beginning ^_^

I suppose in black, they're okay, as far as slimming you down, but here the average girl prefers her leggings in white. And its terrible. Also, though I hate to even think about it, the scene kid thing is STILL going on here. You know, the mullet kids. And their obsession with leggings and shredded jean skirts hasn't let up a bit. All they need to do now is throw on some Uggs and a polka dot headband and they're set.

every teenie 'fashion'-blog

I don't mind reading fashion blogs by people who actually know something about fashion and maybe work with it but 95% of all fashionblogs just suck:yuk:

Even cats hate crocs

Elle magazine quoted crocs are "cute" - for kids.

anyways
not a fan of uggs, it makes legs look shorter. of course if you have long legs is fine,.. but
ahh! >.<
i can't stand it when people wear clothes that way. i wanna strip them and dress them from scratch. they have sooo much potential and they are wasting it away!

Pull your damn pants up!

UGH ....

  1. how did this start?
  2. when?
  3. where?
  4. why?
  5. how?
  6. what's the proper name for this horrid trend?
  • how does the pants stay partially up? by the "P" enis?
  • how does it feel to walk with your pants practially down to your thighs?
  • and do you know you actually look ******** rather than hip? your walk alone looks ******** and i'm just waiting for the pants to fall down to the ankles as one tries to cross the street.
* by far the worst trend of all trends

here in Kiev white leggings aren't as popular as in Athens, I suppose, but lots of people are wearing white LACY leggings and it looks awful... especially when it's not coordinated with their outfit...
oh my scene kids are SOOO in here, thanks God, this trend is popular only among teenagers, I think it's a teenage thing here, and with their trying to be individual the all end up looking the same

I hate leggings, but I just bought a pair (light grey, sheer). It kinda worries me that I like them.

leggings (lace 1000x worse) with flip flops
although I don't think this was ever a "trend"

I'm not sure how much this is a trend vs a normal thing, but it seems to me wearing vintage is very "in" now... I hate it when people take the ugliest piece of Goodwill clothing ever but because it's "vintage" they think it's great.. just because something is "vintage" doesn't mean it's stylish or current or good looking. So many times it just looks awkward.

Just my opinion ! :innocent:
