Trends You Are Sick Of #1

I can tolerate houndstooth. It's not a bad pattern to go with (at least it's better than skulls, which I STILL fail to see what makes them even remotely fashionable and/or "cute"). Something else that's a breath of fresh air (to me) is that not everyone loves open-toe boots. I recently read something online about health issues with your feet in open or peep-toe boots. The good news is that I haven't seen very many of these open-toe abominations after most femmes when goo-goo ga-ga (not Lady GaGa... I like her music). Only open-toe booties I admit liking were those "Vella" booties from Manolo Blahnik. All others- trying too hard and failing miserably.

I am sick to death of the amount of 'preppy' boys at my college who drown themselves in Abercrombie & Fitch & Jack Wills! Seriously I know some boys that have at least 3 pieces of either two brands on EVERY day! This is seriously a trend that needs to die soon!

I also hate this trend that is all about fringe boots and stuff that belongs to Pocahontas. I hate suede as a material and indian fringes look horrible on everyone.

omg i know! it's just.....eww. and whats funny is that tons of girls at my school think they're cute and oh so fashionable. lol. oh whats worst is that girls here in at my school pair their uggs and fringe boots with like short shorts(like kinda like hot pants) and sometimes a long top. yikes!

It's rare I suggest laziness as far as fashion goes. However, I think wearing UGG boots, especially with a denim mini skirt is not cool. It's like some sort of comfort factor. Like since UGG boots can be comfortable, some go to the measure of wearing these with mini skirts (like I saw on a somewhat warm day today here). Most of you know I dislike Winter boots when it isn't cold or miserable to walk in. But I think it's a horrid deal to sport a mini skirt with UGG boots. If you're not cold, why are you wearing UGG boots along with a mini skirt? Mini skirts are suggestive of warmer weather or a fun night out. If it's warm, a mini skirt is fine, but WHY UGG boots to go with them? It's like some of these UGG boot wearing femmes just try to pair ANYTHING with UGGs. Most of the end results are ridiculous. It's this sort of laziness, then, that UGGs are chosen in favor of even flip-flops (they are extremely common, but at least a better option than UGG boots), usually in Fall/Autumn-Winter. Hardly anything works with those sheepskin boots.

Also, just the basic thought that just because it's Fall/Autumn or Winter that UGG boots or some other Winter-type shoes are required, even on warm days or days without snowy or rainy grounds. There must be some unwritten rule that because it's the Fall/Winter season, you have to take UGG-type boots out of "hibernation" and wear them with whatever outfit you have when some better shoes or sandals (or other boots) could be worn instead. Houston on a relatively warm Fall day is much different from a miserably cold and snowy day in Stockholm (for example). So Winter boots are not only overkill, but not stylish nor functional at all.

Sadly, yes. You know it's sad when even flip-flops are edged out in favor of UGG boots for shoes to wear with a denim mini skirt. Some just make very lazy fashion choices.

^^hear hear, open toed BOOTS, talk about preppy 'n pointless.

In terms of function..yeah this doesn't need much discussion. But I just gotta say, jeez I'd feel silly wearing them if I had a pair. Because people wear boots as a protective cold weather item. Imagine someone going "Hold on let me put on my 'boots'" and oh, look at that, their toes are sticking out, what the ****?

Of course people wear them because they think it looks nice and whatever, but that provides no excuse for me either, because in terms of style I find them too preppy cutesy for my taste, eugh

ugg boots are comfy but they are arent " in " any more like they were back in 2006 , they look fine at a ski lodge but if your wearing them at the mall thinking your the shiat , hahaha its sad lol

^^ confession: I love my Uggs. I have always, always been against them, but they're just SO warm and SO comfy, and the weather's so depressingly freezing that I finally caved.
Although I have never, ever worn them with a skirt, so maybe that redeems me slightly?

For my part...it's not really a trend, more just an absolute lack of knowing how to dress, but I hang out a lot in Camden and I keep seeing people wearing corsets wayyyyy too small for them, and it kind of squashes their boobs upwards and out, which I think they think is attractive but actually looks a) like their chest is made of blanchmange (sp...?) and b) like we're all about to get an eyeful of nipple. And the very worst thing, worse than the acres of wobbly flesh, is the back cleavage. >.< it's the most revolting thing. Like overhang, but on the top half. Ewww.

Low rise jeans. Oh my God, if we could only get rid of those it would save us (or at least me) tons on both money and confidence... I mean, I only wear jeans but I noticed that as soon as I entered middle school, everything was low rise! People would keep tapping me on the shoulder and pointing out, "Hey, your buttcrack is showing!" No matter how many pairs of new jeans I bought, they were always too low.

Plus, it encourages the whale tail thing.

I love my skinny jeans. But they are too low as well.

Here in New Zealand we are moving into summer and the whole floaty Maxi Dress 'thing' is coming around AGAIN. I'd had enough of it last year - why can't we move on to something new?????

The scarves around the neck trend--forgot the name, but started out with the houndstooth, but I see people use all kinds of patterns now. It's so played out.

Lazy designers trying to inject some 'edge' into thier collections by adding influences from any of the following subcultures:
Goth/ Steampunk/Lolita
Cyber/Industrial
Burlesque
Rockabilly
Punk
Rave
Heavy Metal/Rock/ Biker chic
Fetish
Hippie/Grunge

and/or 'dress-up box' influences e.g.
Historical (Victorian/ medieval etc.)
Equestrian/Cowgirl
Prarie
Sailor/Nautical

It's just plain lazy! LAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and Emo and 'urban' fashions.......well, I've got nothing nice to say about them so I'll not say anything!

I'm so bored of skinny ties. I made a shoot with a very good stylist over 3 years ago and the mono look he made with the tie was great.

However, it never went away and now I'm sick of it.

UGGS AND NORTHFACES AND SWEATPANTS/LEGGINGS - OH MY!

I am going to hibernate at spring... all these fashion disaster clones on campus freak me out.
