Trends You Are Sick Of #1

I always wonder why this thread and "Trends we Love" aren't pinned threads because they play such a part in what's hot and why these trends are loved or loathed.

Still not liking open-toe boots. I'm actually glad I'm finally seeing people who think open-toe boots are horrid. This isn't "Yay or Nay," but you be the judge on these... boot, flip-flop hybrids:

Instead of open-toe boots (and in the cold), try something alternative like warm socks paired with some cute sandals or peep-toe shoes rather than open-toe boots. Open-toe boots are one of those "I don't get it" things along with oversized clutches, "geek glasses," and stuff like that. It's just nice others aren't feeling open-toe boots like most in the past. Something like those are different, but different doesn't always mean better.

open toe boots look soo tacky , that too in winter , unless you want frostbite on your foot hahaha , they look ugly and dont even have practicality .

I agree with what has been said before, open toed boots look tacky and don't make any sense :yuk: I'm also sick of Uggs!

It may seem a bit off-topic but... why now? Why now dislike open-toe boots even after most were all excited over them? Why now when I've trashed these things since the first few pictures came up? Most open-toe boots are basically sandals or pumps with an identity crisis, and oh yeah- a boot shaft. One site I looked up talked about what happened if your feet were sweating with these open-toe boots on. Best left for the runway. Where it belongs. This, even though I've seen some at stores like Aldo's Accessories, Bakers, and Nine West among other retailers. But best left for the runway. Only open-toe boots I liked were the "Vella" booties by Manolo Blahnik. Everything else was about fraudulent.

I'm fed up of weather-inappropriate footwear in general. surely it doesn't make any sense to wear ballet pumps with skinny jeans if it's pouring rain...

clogs, ok so they are easy to just slip on and go - but they make your feet look deformed.

Wearing leggings as pants. Most girls who did this do not have the legs for it.

Not really feelin the whole Shegmah thing.. I mean yes i understand that scarves are meant to go around your neck, but why in the summer?

Waste of time and money if you ask me..

Well, to me, it's more a styling touch. Some of the fashion ones I've been seeing on tFS were mostly (and I may be wrong) more lightweight scarves rather than extremely cold weather scarves.

As far as weather-inappropriate footwear goes, not a trend, but certainly some of you seen me rant on Winter boots in warmer weather (including simple UGG boots). Even more so with a denim miniskirt. Just because it's cold weather season doesn't mean you HAVE to wear them on warm days. It even applies to jeans tucked into boots when it's not raining. I think one day was about the lower or mid 80s here in Houston, and some femme tucked jean legs into her knee-high boots. Dress according to the weather and ground conditions rather than just throwing on some clothes whenever you feel like it.

Those are awful rips of Margielas shame on them seriously awful. And Margiela made them creative not ugly. So trends I hate are baseball caps worn ironicly or actually baseball caps in general are awful

OMG. I totally agree! I have noticed many girls try and pass off leggings as skinny pants? They are not!

Saying this countless times on tFS, I've grown tired of leggings. Actually grown tired of skinny jeans and pants in general. Why do some pass off leggings as pants? Perhaps a comfort factor. It's the same reason why femmes try pairing sheepskin boots with everything (including denim miniskirts). I mentioned in the past about a laziness of fashion choices. Well, this is no different. Leggings as pants are nothing new. This was probably common even back in the 1990s. But still- it's fashion laziness. Skinny jeans and pants will work better than leggings. I'm probably sure they are even warmer to wear than leggings in cold weather.

Part of the problem I've had with skinny jeans and pants... I think of them usually for warmer weather. It's like how you see pedal-pushing capris in warmer weather as opposed to colder weather. I would think wider legs would be warmer to wear rather than skinny pants/jeans. Still don't hate skinny jeans, skinny pants, or leggings... but still just tired and bored of them. So just go ahead and bore me some more on these skinny pants and leggings...

I don't agree with you there. I think skinny jeans have become a staple in most wardrobes and are not even a trend anymore. They have been around for so long. It's more about your personal preference in jeans (skinny, bootscut, straight leg...). And I think they are especially practical in winter because you can tuck into boots easily when it rains and snows a lot (which it does where I live). There is no difference between skinny jeans and others regarding warmness. They are made of the the same fabric so why should thy not keep you just as warm???

LOL, I hated skinny pant when they first started, but now I hope they never go out of style. They are just so much better than any kind of baggy pant.

I keep seeing girls in uggs and skirts, it's winter! do they think that the uggs will keep them completely warm? I hope it changes now that it started snowing :innocent:

Need I state this again- Winter boots on warm Fall/Autumn or Winter days? It snowed here in Houston late Wednesday. That would have been a time to tuck in the jeans into boots and wear the warmest boots because it was actually cold and that snow was falling. There's no style in Winter boots when it's not cold or not miserable to walk around. And half the time, most of the Winter boots I've seen were mostly fashion. Probably okay for us since we don't have weather like cold weather seasons in Sweden or Moscow. But still, just because it's cold season doesn't mean you have to wear the biggest and warmest boots you can find on a mild 70-degree day in Southeast Texas! I saw a bad combination of Bermuda shorts with Winter boots that have those pom pom things dangling at the top of them. These boots are a waste of money when days aren't bitter cold.

Most of you can tell when I hate something just by turning my hate into words (sometimes bad ones). I'm slowly starting to dislike sheepskin boots. I heard a quote from something I want to watch on Style Network on Friday night:

(indirect quote) "The only thing sheepskin boots look good on is Chewbacca!" -Peter Ishkans on "Top 25 Glamour Do's and Don'ts"

It was never like I've recommended any sheepskin boots for any outfits, but I'm starting to join the dislike crew for these boots. They are basically the flip-flops of the Winter. Only that even as hated as flip-flops are to some, at least I'd rather those than sheepskin boots. Just because it's a late Fall/Autumn or Winter day doesn't mean you're required to wear these if it isn't bitter cold. It's like I say about skinny pants vs. anything non-skinny- are average shoes overrated when it's cold weather season and it isn't that cold? I'm slowly getting down that path of disliking sheepskin boots to where I feel like I'm going to have very high blood pressure and die. Disliking these sheepskin boots very slowly until the dark side consumes me again.

Otherwise, that night of snow was fun here in Houston!

I think the bow trend has been revived too many times in the last 5 years. I do think bow are cute, but it can be too much at times.
I have never been a fan of crocs, and never will be. I don’t like uggs either, what’s worse is when I see girls wearing them in summer...
Leggings worn as pants, IMO, the look works with cute little mini dresses, but not blouses/tops

I like leggings as pants only when it looks like this
