Trends You Are Sick Of #1

someone mentioned the trend for peep toes. i completely AGREE. it's like they take perfectly nice shoes and just stick a peep toe on for effect. i've now filled myself with absolute rage over a hole in some shoes, how embarassing

I don't know how you see it but I think some things that started off as trends have transitioned to staples like ballet flats and skinny jeans.

I've hated jeans tucked into boots as a style. Well, someone will always make ways to show any hated trends even more hateful. I'm not really hateful of rain boots as a style. Thing is, one girl (perhaps in the 18-25 range) thought it was cute to put the legs of her pants into a pair of rain boots. It was a warm day with no real mention of rain since the 10 AM local mark in the Houston area. Why is this look still existant while it's warm outside and with no rain to walk through? I still hate the look as a style, silhouette feel or not. Pairing these pants (I don't think they were really jeans) with rain boots and tucking the legs into these fashion (key word) rain boots is a fashion no-no. Thanks for re-igniting my dislike of jeans into boots for reasons other than functional. I'm sure you all will defend this look, so go ahead and make me look silly for not defending jeans-into-boots...

Rain boots when it's not raining and not going to rain?
Tucked in or not, that's just stupid, not to mention sweaty.

Absolutely agree!
But to be fair I actually haven't seen many people around here wear Wellington boots as a fashionable item. But I did notice that more oriental girls do that in East Asia.

Jeans tucked into rain boots is not a trend over here at all. But as it does rain quite often you sometimes see women wear rubber boots which is ok when it's for practical reasons, I guess.

Today the weather is pretty good here and I must say that I'm sick of seeing those rubber flip flops on both guys and girls. They are just not flattering. I'm not talking about nice thong flats here only the nasty plastic ones.

i think it looks really ugly when people wear boots and DONT tuck them in.. why not just wear flats if your going to hide all the detail?

i dont like boots when jeans arent tucked in either. i didn't realize that so many people were tired of the whole jeans in boots thing. living in chicago, where the winters can reach waaay below 0 and theres gross slush and snow everywhere, i find it absolutely necessary to tuck my jeans in! (non-ugg boots, of course)
i do think rainboots are a bit unnecessary. it looks like people are trying to hard and looking foward to the rain or something.

I've never really hated flip-flop/thong sandals at all much. I always see them as a cute way to show off the feet. You could go from flip-flops to ballet flats, but these sandals are here to stay unless something equal to the Keds Champion sneakers from the last decade become the "it" shoe or sandal for femmes the world over. I've liked many kinds of thong sandals- real flat, minimal heel, platformed, platform wedge, and stuff like that. I have a cute Vietnamese friend that usually wear these stylish thong sandals with a low stilleto heel. I've had very little to hate about flip-flops. If anything, it's probably about wearing socks or some stockings/tights with thong sandals.

well tucking pants/jeans into boots isnt a bad thing , but of late it has become a bit waaaaaaaay over done esp with Uggs and spikey hooker boots , with a pair of frye boots or platform boots , it looks much better

I agree with you disco.
I don't have a problem with thong sandals, only the material when they are plastic/rubber. They look cheap. But leather is fine.

Stockings/tights with thong sandals? Unbelievable.
That must mean the sort of stockings/tights they wears have separate toes to make wearing thong sandals possible. That's s scary thought

But to be honest, I'm not a fan of thong sandals at all. I personally find them acceptable only in beach-type of situations because otherwise, they are just not respectable-looking in my opinion. This might sound weird, I know.

Yeah I agree too, and kind of think the worst/most annoying plastic/rubber thong sandals are those heeled, wedged, platform kinds.

Because a. not all jeans one owns are narrow enough to be tucked inside the boots, b. not all boots one owns are suitable for that tucked-in look, and c. for the practical reason, it still keeps one's legs a lot warmer when wearing boots under the jeans/trousers than wearing non-boots.

those teeny tiny bags...and girls who wear them with hoodies, skinny jeans and ballet flats

low rise pants. i was all about them until i got a new pair of cheap monday skinny jeans that had a 8 inch rise. they look better on and it's relaxing to know there is no chace of flashing my butt crack when i bend down

^ I absolutely hate low rise jeans, especially when shorter girls wear them because they make the legs look shorter. And most of all because I don't like seeing people's butt cracks, it is just not attractive.

Same here. I bought a pair of cheap mondays recently myself and love that they are higher. I really don't like low waist jeans that much anymore. I used to wear them though.
