Trends You Are Sick Of #2

while i'm at it, one thing i wish would subside a little bit are skinny jeans. the silhouette is just starting to be irksome to me. they aren't universally flattering. as far as i'm concerned, their main function should be to tuck into things or to wear with certain high heels, although that can look trashy if not done well. i'm especially bored of the skinny jeans and flats look. its just such a cop out, in my opinion. i wouldn't be bothered by them if there were a greater variety of quality jeans available in stores these days, but its near impossible to find a great, unique pair of jeans for less than $250 that are anything but drainpipes. and as someone who is particularly hard on jeans, i just can't justify spending over 200.

I know everybody loves them, but I really dislike Oxford shoes...

i thought skinny jeans were a no-no for 2010?!?
i read it on tFS itself..
"Skinny Jeans. You're either skinny and wearing jeans, or not. Don't make it the pants' decision."

lol hilariously TRUE.

Just walked past someone and immediately thought "Trends You Are Sick Of". The trend in question was a high on the waist almost under the ribcage wide belt of a top. Not a good look.

Converses. Even Diane Kruger can't make me like them and for me, that's saying A LOT (I love everything Diane Kruger). Do people really think they look good?

wow. I saw a full on purple juicy couture velvet tracksuit today. I didnt even know those still existed!! i gagged a little.

I can't stand:
-ed hardy or crocs. And when people where them together (ive seen it before) i die inside a little bit.
-'nerdy' glasses without the lens.
-lulu lemon attire used for regular clothing. there are just so many people i see that opt for yoga clothing as normal clothing.

the Robert the Bruce trend: big ugly fur coats, lots of chunky spiked jewelry, vacant expression, NOT fierce indeed!

lol I will defend Converse to the death! Everyone needs a nice, sleek, comfortable, and inexpensive sneaker that can match your wardrobe (instead of you trying to make your wardrobe match it).

^same with the Converse defence, you will have to pry my high-tops off my cold dead feet before I give them up.

What I do find massively lame, however, is middle-aged (late 40s-50s) men in Converse or any trainers really, they just look like they're having a midlife crisis and making fools of themselves trying to be kids again.

I also agree with the 80s hate (I'm more of a 90s lover, and think the 80s were hideous) and the next time I see people wearing non-prescription glasses as a fashion accessory, it'll probably take all my willpower to keep from snatching them off and giving the wearer a piece of my mind.

^I was thinking more of the "wearing everything she bought at Zara/HM/thrift shop/F21/whereever that week" type of look. ;)

But yea, I'm sick of the "emulating the fashion editor" look: mostly black with high-end accessories. I like it when these women go out and buy the actual pieces though. Interesting to see how it looks on regular people.

I can't stand the Balmain-inspired stuff anymore. Seriously, H&M, Zara, Etam... are killing it. I can't see a t-shirt with some poorly studded shoulders or t-shirts with rips which look so cheap.

unless ofcouse, they actually DO sport in order to wear trainers.

I lieu of Converse, why not move up and start buying pumas? They're stylish and full of adult vibe****Crisis Averted! :woot:
