why the hype?

flipped through it at supermarket today and i will definitely save my money to buy Kate's Japan Vogue instead (at a whopping £16) when it is out.
Her 2 photos inside Bazaar are some of her plainest work in years. Nothing exciting or radical about it.
As for the cover: nothing she hasn't done before with Nick Knight for Vogue Uk. I can think of at least 3 other Vogue cover with her face close-up & tilted....

Katrin's editorial overshadows the issue. I'm terribly disappointed with Kate's, although I guess I should be thankful she's even gracing the cover. Maybes because I'm not a McQueen fan, I can't see the fascination with Daphne Guinness or Annabelle Neilson. I understand that it's terrific to have those two for a McQueen story, I would of just preferred Kate on her own. There's only one decent shot of her - and even that has a centre folding. But Bazaar's shopping pages always seem to thrill me, month after month. After receiving a subscriber copy I went out and bought the newsstand cover. It's so beautiful and eye-catching on the stands.

What I've seen of this issue so far looks absolutely breathtaking. The styling is very simple, but everything is done so, so well.
And I actually like Georgia's work for once.

It is just a handful of ok shots that do not do justice to Alexander's creativity. When I think of all the outstanding editorials that could have been made had it been VI or VP, this is a let down to say the least. The cover is as good as it gets.
In comparison, Jagger's (short) spread is fresher and delightful.

In Kates Editorial there is a shot of her reclining on the floor in the skull dress that she wore at the American Express show in 2004, when she danced with Michael Clark, there is her subscribers shot and also a shot with her and Annabelle Neilson hugging?, a single, full shot of Annabelle and a shot of Daphne Guinness, that makes her look like she's fighting through wind, its not spectacular, but it is incredibly stunning, Sølve did a great job, i kind of wish it had been shot by Klein or Nick Knight though.

Vanessa has next to nothing. One page about little bits in her life. They do the feature each month with someone different, I forget it's name.
