The cover sucks but the eds are pretty decent. I like Agy's a lot. Lily D's is pretty ok too, but they could have done more with her. For some reason, they always style her to look like a hippie. Kinda getting tired of Lily Cole.
You know, after reading the editor's letter, it would have made more sense to have put a model on the cover. But I'm not really complaining since I love Eva Green.
Despite it being objectionaly thin I did actually enjoy the content. It seems much more focused than Vogue UK has been for a while. The biggest dissapointment is the Eva Green shoot. Eva is one of the most beautiful actresses to come out of Hollywood for a long time, she also has such a unique personal style and yet Vogue has not played on this at all. The shoot is Elle standard and the cover looks like something only Ms Wintour would approve of.
I was hoping Alaxandra Shulman would step up the game with 2008's covers but if this is setting the standard then I think we're going to be in for a dissapointing year.
To me this is (again) a really random and forgettable issue. Everything's nice but never extraordinary. Again it really shows UK Vogue's lacking an own & unique vision, especially compared to the French and Italian versions. The styling for this issue in particular is quite awful and predictable. It's like they have all the right ingredients but don't know how to bring them together to produce an interesting result. Such a shame
I think UK Vogue always has poor spreads of their cover subjects, sometimes only two or three pictures, and Eva's is no better, this truly is Elle level as Laisla said.
Dont like other eds either..................
