They've gone for more polished covers this year which makes the magazine look more prestigious.
The Precious Lee covers, Grace Elizabeth, Doja profile one, Sydney Sweeney, Anne Hathaway looking like a classic beauty, and Zoe Kravitz OG are my favourites.
Worst ones are Mary J Blige in gaudy fur , the New Faces set, and the Gisele covers which were quite underwhelming.

American Elle can make a eye-catching cover, but there's usually nothing beyond that which makes the issue worth buying at the import price. If some of these shots had appeared on the front of French Elle, I'd have bought the issue.

I really miss those early years of US Elle when their covers were so unique and beautiful, totally different from the typical fashion magazine vibe. I can still picture those close-up shots of faces, kind of like what you’d see in 80s US Vogue. My favorite was Rachel William's all natural look for the March 1990 issue.
