US Vogue April 2009 : Beyoncé by Mario Testino

Plus, Beyonce, acknowledge it or not, is a role model for many of today's young girls. Her songs are all about female-empowerment. What women or young girl can't relate with that?
So?

Chris Brown is also a role model for many of today's young men. :innocent:

I appreciate the message in her music.
Indeed...

I'm feelin kind of n-a-s-t-y
I might just take you home with me
Baby the minute I feel your energy
Your vibe's just taken over me
Start feelin so crazy babe
I feel the funk coming over me
I don't know what's gotten into me
The rhythm's got me feelin so crazy babe

Tonight I'll be your naughty girl
I'm callin' all my girls
We're gonna turn this party out
I know you want my body
Tonight I'll be your naughty girl
I'm callin' all my girls
I see you look me up and down
And I came to party

You're so sexy, tonight i am all yours boy
The way your body moves across the floor
You got me feelin n-a-s-t-y
I might just take you home with me
:lol::lol:

i am dyin over here!

ETA: you do realize that most of her songs aren't like that though? :P

Okay, this Beyonce bashing has seriously gotten out of hand. In my opinion, even if Beyonce is "tacky" and "vulgar" as some of you say, the Vogue staff made her look as elegant, beautiful, and classy as they could. And that is all that is important.

thank you! EXACTLY.

Look 99% of US Vogue's cover choices are not personal preferences at all. Some i outright detest. But this bashing of Beyonce extends not only to the cover but also to her personality, to her subjective "vulgarity" etc etc, and it's just out of hand.

I can understand criticising the cover if she doesn't look good. Though i think they've done a good job making her look elegant and lovely. But can we take the character/music bashing to the rumour has it thread or something?

this is a fashion forum, and this thread has the context of fashion. It's not really a general place to just spit opinions on celebrities. ONTD might be a better place for that.

so yeah..., anyone got info on the contents? :flower:

Exactly I agree completely. As long as she "looks" Vogue, that is all that should matter. Jennifer Hudson is NOT Vogue, shes a woman of more curves, but for her cover, she was transformed into the ideal Vogue woman. And the issue SOLD! And in the end thats all that matters, look at how beautiful Blake turned out after her transformation.Anna Wintour could put Nicole Scherzinger on the cover and transform her into the Vogue woman, and she could sell that issue like it were the cure for Cancer.

^^there hasn't been any word on content for a while and i'm sure if someone had any they would have been posted by now..i'm sure you know that ^_^

quoting lyrics now?? sometimes, well for me anyways it's not always about the lyrics it's the beat and she knows how to make you dance with her music! and people who are like shaking her but is what is disgusting, have you ever danced before? don't you shake your booty when you dance or is it just you can't do it as good.

I already posted info on content, but people were way into this "debate".
I'm not reposting it either.

You're completely right. This is a fashion forum, not Perez Hilton. The only thing that matters is that the editors of Vogue have done a good job of creating a fashionable, stylish cover, and not about the number of times Beyonce has shaken her booty in a music video.

If Beyonce looked terrible on the Vogue cover and the Vogue staff did not do their job to the their best ability, then bash away! But character defamation is TOTALLY irrelevant to the point of this forum, which is about Vogue magazine, not Beyonce Knowles and her questionable career moments. In the end, it's about how the celebrity (or model in the case of other magazines) looks on the cover and the ability of the magazine to sell. And I think this issue will FLY off of the shelves.

I am hoping we get a little peak of the editorials inside so the conversation will be redirected.... I'm sure some people would go into cardiac arrest if there was a Beyonce-themed editorial with Chanel Iman or Jourdan Dunn inside !

! God forbid that Katy Perry rumor were true, but if they transformed her and made her look as sophisticated and soignee as Beyonce, than I really don't care. Still, I think Katy Perry is beyond being saved by transformation !

Please, editorials, show yourselves before there are some dragdown catfights in this forum!

I don't care too much about Beyonce. I am just amused that her presence in a Vogue cover is pissing so many people off. In fact, pretty much everybody who's been in a Vogue cover this year is pissing people off. I personally would rather have somebody who pisses people off than have same old Jennifer Aniston/Nicole Kidman/Keira Knightley/Sienna Miller. Just happy that Vogue is giving them their well-deserved rest.

i'm just suprised more people aren't pissing themselves over Zac Enfron on the Interview cover.

surely that's far more blasphemous?

I have a feeling the editorials this month will be quite decent, whatever the comments on the cover, US Vogue has been stepping up with the editorials.

Oh, I've already voiced my opinion on that monstrosity. That magazine is in the gutter for sure after savior Fabien left.

Oh editorials, where are thou!?! I'm hoping there is something good in this issue. Everytime there is a Shape issue, I always think of the gorgeous Crystal Renn. I miss her so! So stunning and beautiful- the perfect plus-size model. I wish she would come back!

I don't know anything about the edits but considering last year's edits and also considering Vogue has been getting slightly better they should be at least OK.
