You're not the only one, I'm with you 110%.
As a tall and thin gal myself, I feel like this tagline is favoring the full figured women and degrading the less-than-average-weight women as "unnormal" or "deformed". Yes, women have curves; but does that constitute a real woman. What happened to the notion of being happy in your own body. Just as curvy is a body type, so it being thin. Its ironic how the American public just likes to look down on the thinner types, accusing them as a bad influence on young girls and yet it's taboo to look down upon an overweight woman.
So I'm with you on that, Tinsley.
As for the cover; I love it. It's very classic and simple and clean. I like her hair slicked back and the color of the dress looks wonderful next to her skin.
But I must say as much as I admire her for her talent and persona, she's no Sasha Fierce. That title is reserved for Sasha Pivovarova
I like Beyonce, she looks nice here but US Vogue covers are mostly boring and it's tiresome seeing the same type of celebrities on every cover. They don't take any risks like the other Vogue's. At this point I think Elle does a better job but hopefully Anna Wintour will be gone soon.
The only complain I have about the cover is the darkness of it. I don't see nothing Spring/Summer about the colours.
Beyonce looks good, and it's a lot better than I expected.
Thank you A.D.C. finally someone with a voice of reason, was shaking my head in disbelief reading some comments. My god tallk about taking this to freaking seriously. I love how mostly members that never have anything remotely nice to say about US Vogue as it is, and usually post comments about how awful.etc it is, are losing their crap because here is a woman that does not meet their standards of who should be on the cover. So like Luxx, i dont like this idea of constant "is she worthy to be on the cover" discussion either, we should move away from that.First of all I do respect your opinion and because I find it thought provoking I decided to quote it, but since when is the cover of Vogue or that of any magazine for that matter on equal footing with winning something of substance??? I love fashion magazines as much as anyone, and I too would love to see models on the covers, and I too find Beyonce incredibly boring and unoriginal but lets all get off our high horses and realize IT'S JUST THE COVER OF A MAGAZINE!! you don't need to find the cure for cancer to be worthy of it. I for one breathe a sigh a relief whenever it's not Gwyneth, Renee, or Nicole.
babyjane, there are other factors to take into consideration, especially for American Vogue.
for one - the country's market. each country has a different audience - we're not going to see boobs flaunted on AV's cover a la French Vogue, simply because it's AMERICAN Vogue, not French Vogue.
it's quite a shallow view to simply dismiss what Anna Wintour does just on the basis that it's "safe" and doesn't take risks. American Vogue is a gigantic, commercial machine, and she runs it smoothly and efficiently.
Anna understands her market, and she knows the business best. not everyone can be avant-garde or risk taking, and even if they want to be, the management aka Conde Nast will probably not allow it.
yes we can mock Anna's choice of cover stars, but the fact is that she's managed to run this huge machine very efficiently for the past 20 years and that is something not to be taken lightly.

Vogue should put Beyonce on March issue. It's better than Mrs. Obama
I'm glad someone said this. I wonder how many people are just bashing Vogue US because it's 'cool' to do so? Honestly, Vogue US has really got it together this year.Oh no. I hate all this hater talk. 9 Pages of nearly all negative comments. It is the thing I hate most about US Vogue threads
