US Vogue April 2015 : Serena Williams by Annie Leibovitz

If Serena only has 1 shot, maybe she wasn't really meant for the cover? A rather last minute decision?

I'm thinking they considered Kendall and/or Cara from Testino's ed for the cover. A Kendall cover will happen, won't it?

I was so excited when I read the title, but the cover really isn't flattering at all.

Also laughing my a** off at the fact that "Igloo Australia" is featured. Between that and the whole Kendall thing, I think it's really apparent that Vogue is just becoming a glorified tabloid magazine at this point.

No, please! Lets not even entertain that thought. However it is odd that Serena only has one shot, and presumably sharing the story with Wozniacki.

Do people who read Vogue even care about Justin Bieber or Kendall? I thought their target audience was 18-60ish... Guess not. Although according to Condé Nast the Median age of readers is 38.5 (via).

Iggy was one of the biggest music stars of the past year, regardless of yours or the Internet's current feelings towards her.

Vogue has always followed her, interviewed her in 2013 for Vogue.com, later that year named her one of the ten "rising style stars for 2014" along with the likes of Lupita, in fact this isn't even her first appearance on the April issue as she also had a feature exactly a year ago right before finally having her huge mainstream breakthrough.

Perhaps I'm just being ignorant, but how do you know that only Cameron makes sense for that ed if you haven't seen it already?

Because, Lima aside, Cameron is more renowned for her curves and her healthy attitude? The other girls I'm not too sure about. This is the shape issue and Vogue tend to focus more on the wholesome look for this issue.

LOVE her hair on the cover. So glad Vogue has embraced it. On the other hand, I find everything I've read so far when it comes to this issue's content quite underwhelming... Such an easily forgettable month for them (just like the whole year until this point).

I'm sooooo happy that Serena got the cover!!! I meantioned in the Cover Rumor thread that I would like to see her on the cover. She looks like herself and not overly photoshopped which is a good thing.

I personally think this is the strongest cover from Vogue this year. It saddens me that Kendall is in the magazine again. The girl can not take a good picture if she tried. I'm tired of Anna shoving that chick down our throats with vacant stare in every photo.

Honestly it should have been Ansel and GiGi together and leave out that baby Justin and that robot Kendall

Horrible will defiantly not be buying this I'm going to stop buying us vogue they have more bad covers than good ones !

I'm glad to see Serena, love her hair too. But not a fan of her face-expression... Anyway, can't wait for the entire issue!

I'm sat here, hand over mouth, absolutely appalled at how horrendous this cover is. I gI'm not even motivated by the fact it's Serena Williams because Vogue have done her a disservice with this one.
My exact reaction, i dont understand how anyone can find this to be a good cover, or like it! Just shocking, even more when you compare it to the gorgeous, and powerful cover with Marion Jones, that was posted. They don't even try anymore, what a stunning that shot was, and they could have done so much with Serena, she has curves, and she really knows how to wear clothes, never seen her look uncomfortable, even when she wears super tight dresses. So again opportunity wasted!

I really hope this sells though, because last time she shared a cover, it was their worst seller of the past 5 years.

The content sounds like a nightmare to me though! Justin Bieber, Kendall? Please Fashion, stop this nonsense!!!

I glad for choosing Serena but this cover is so bad. It's hard to believe that is Vogue US!

^ Typical for the Shape Issue, but i have to say Lima does stand out to me here.

I'm glad she got the cover. I think she looks good. I don't expect much from Vogue honestly. But like someone mentioned, her skin isn't lightened and her hair isn't straightened and she looks like herself. I appreciate that.

Serena looks so statuesque on the cover, but they had to put her in the most boring dress imaginable. Love the edit with all the doggies!
