Porter #28 Fall 2018 : Lupita Nyong'o by Mario Sorrenti

Totally forgettable issue.

Highland Fling is the only solid story. Lupita is such a disappointing fashion fav: For all her vast potential since she’s such a naturally radiant woman, her fashion stories have always been so department-store catalogue— or just standard Hollywood PR shoots. Ironically enough, one of the quotes from this issue’s feature “I love acting because I enjoy experiencing the world through other people’s eyes”— and yet, she’s always just Lupita in every fashion story…

Maybe she has very strict PR that insists she looks a certain way every time, for her brand’s sake. You’d think Porter with Mario shooting Lupita would produce something with some smoulder… But it’s all so polite and careful in preserving that conservative Lupita brand.

Porter Digital Edition

It's generic compared to others but very practical. So I believe they have their audience who see love seeing beautiful clothes more practical.

Just got this in the mail. 270 pages. Porter seems to have not followed its own plastic reduction initiative from last issue, as my copy arrived bagged in plastic.

In addition to what Zorka posted:

"Bella Donatella"
P: Nick Hudson
S: Maya Zepinic
Donatella with Naomi Chin Wing and Jessie Bloemendaal

"What we talk about when we talk about desire"-article framed around Kate Moss, an article about divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, a travel section, and a guide to "wild Ireland" from Anjelica Huston
