US Vogue February 2012 : Taylor Swift by Mario Testino

I honestly think that it looks like an outtake from her April 2010 shoot for Elle. I'm not wowed.

Taylor looks quite lovely on the cover of Vogue. I like that it's a pretty simple cover, her just looking at the camera, it's not overly fussy which is how people often make her look like when on covers of magazines. And I like that the cover feels like Taylor... it still has some of that country vibe which is nice. I'm actually pretty surprised at how much I like this cover.

Surprise...not as bad as it could be. Thankfully, she doesn't look so sugary sweet.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Why on earth is SHE appealing to people whatsoever, to Anna Wintour or the entire fashion industy? I mean I always defend US Vogue's aesthetics, ideas, editorials' fabulousness, covers' subjects and all but I hate it when sometimes, despite all my good will, I just can't say to other bloggers or people in general that it's getting worse. Last year US Vogue did wonders with everything but once in a while they do miss it big time, just like now with that girl on the cover! Taylor is NOT Vogue material!!! She's Seventeen magazine or Elle but not a high fashion interesting elegant creature!

I feel like I've seen this before.

It looks lovely! simple but eye catching. Thank God Vogue straightened her hair and not styled her in the sparkly gown. I love her hair and make up and she looks really fresh. Love the color and lay out too. Lovely!

I love the simple pop of blue, and Taylor certainly looks stunning.

I like it actually, bit different. I don't really have much of a problem with Taylor being on the cover and not sure I get the hate particularly. I'm not going to sit here and say I know that much about her but I believe she had the biggest selling album of last year and pretty much wrote it all herself? Go her I say.

Looking forward to seeing her editorial.

She reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow on this cover.

it reminds me of this...alot of hair and a big hat:

I agree! Yes she's not really a fashion icon, but she always looks well-dressed enough and I find it kind of refreshing that she isn't completely manufactured and dressed in head-to-toe designer clothes like some of these young starlets are.

I'd forgotten that Gwyneth cover existed, her eyes are expressing the indignity of having to wear that "hat", which looks like someone brushed the floor at a craft fair and tried to make something from the collected rubbish.

This is surprisingly good. Fresh, girly and country (in a good way), which is exactly how Taylor is.

I like it but I would never have guessed that it was Taylor and proably neither would her Mother!
