US Vogue September 2025 : Emma Stone by Jamie Hawkesworth

I like the cover. I really do…But I’m confused by the direction of the story.
They shot it in Avignon but she isn’t wearing the resort collection but a Couture collection by NG. Was it’commissioned by Anna for Vogue or is it an introduction to a new collection.

And then, the photos don’t really tell a story either. I expected something more dynamic. It turns out the best shot is the photo with Nicolas because it’s cute, not because it’s striking.

Those architectural clothes tells a different story than what Jamie is doing. That would have been a good occasion to use Meisel.

That being said, considering the years of support, I like that she gave her last September cover to NG. I still want Tom Ford by Haider to get a cover. Hoping for October then…

it’s ok. not terrible at all and the editorial has some interesting shots. is this what I was expecting from Ms. Wintour’s allegedly final glossy, it isn't.

nonetheless, if this is Anna’s last issue I like that she’s doing a sort of full (ending) circle last edition like @vogue28 mentioned (totally makes sense), I actually appreciate that she’s’ going like this. doesn’t have to be with a bang and in all honesty, it kinda seems like it isn’t in such way, on purpose. and if that isn’t super on brand for Anna Wintour, I don’t know what is.

Perhaps a tad cynical, but I doubt she would be supporting Ghesquiere if he wasn't so strongly associated with LVMH/Vuitton, Conde Nast's most important client.

And since Haider’s rejuvenation of the brand, Tom Ford needs to be kept far far far away from this hack publication. Haider’s Tom Ford needs to invest its advertising budget in Bazaar: French, Italian and even American Bazaar would and could do wonders for the brand--- while Anna’s Vogue has devolved to that consumer-end level as InStyle/People/Us.

Go girl, give us nothing 🤩

it feels like such a nonevent and I can’t quite well comprehend why, so I’m leaning towards execution and direction. You have the beautiful location, you have the delightful couture and a gorgeous cover subject, but there’s no sense of storytelling and of course there’s no fantasy.

I think that a vast majority of people would love to own a creation like the ones Emma is wearing, but the way that are presented it makes me eek. There is not an ounce of aspiration in the whole ed.

The two threads for this cover have now been merged. Here is a friendly… but firm… reminder to NOT upload leaked content to the forums prior to official release as it can result in legal action taken against us. Unless anybody wants this site taken down, I highly suggest this be taken seriously.

I'm curious about inside. Not expecting a best of 1988-2025 issue because it's a September one showing current collections. If this is her last, I'm okay with Emma as last face, but if not, please end this ternure with a high note.

The cover looks modern even it's just another attempt to stay relevant in a time and place where nobody wants to pay for content anymore.
But a crazy happy Emma in cheap jeans paired with a unflattering garment of LV that costs a fortune for sure reflects the state we are in right now just perfectly.

US Vogue became a follower a long time ago. It's time to move on or just accept the fact for what it is: A place for advertising just to survive.

I like the cover, for me it's the best US Vogue's Sept cover in 2020s.. I love the layout too, it's fresh. The ed, however, is all over the place.

LVMH must have spent a lot of $$$$, last month Anne's ed is Givenchy advertorial, this month's Emma's story is LV advertorial... is this the new norm for US Vogue?

September 2021 and 2023 were easily better than this one.

Looks like something US Vogue would do... but in 2007 and for a random editorial. It's not cover-worthy.

The big a$$ jacket ruins this photo. Personal opinion, never liked LV under Nicholas, even I respect the man. It's way different from the Lacroix top from the first cover. I read more about it in CNN's page. It was an accidental shot. Anna didn't liked the skirt from the entire look because Michaela Bercú (in Anna's words and that time standards) "gain weight after vacations". They got away in a smart way with maybe the most legendary cover by lots of critics, the fashion industry and long term readers. Seems something like this will never happen again. Carlyne also made some comments about that cover today. This current cover was styled by Grace, so at least another legendary editor is behind it.

It’s interesting that the public seems to have finally turned against Wintour’s Vogue.

All the top instagram comments are criticising the cover, I swear it never used to be like this?!
