Hmmm...for some reason this reminds me too much of Alessandra's first and only Couture collection, and for that, it makes me furious!

Only one dress that is nice, the rest is so bad, this is the worst collection from all HS collection this season.

Very, very good collection! Love all the mini dresses and the red ones!

This collection looks like it's targeted at teenagers: the long dresses for 17-year-olds going to their graduations and the mini dresses for their younger sisters. Where's the adult sophistication? Ick. :yuk:

Valentino should never have fired Alessandra Facchinetti.

Okay, it's better than I expected, but still, not what I'd like to see from Valentino.

Best couture collection they delivered thusfar, hands down....they really are finding a balance with their own aesthetics and the Valentino heritage. I love that first cage dress we saw that everybody hates. It's an exaggerated collar

Without seeing the whole collection, so far I think this is just trying to hard to combine a young, Miu Miu-esque sensibility with the Valentino codes of dress. The proportions are all wrong, and would maybe suit twelve-year-old girls, and I'm assuming the actual customers have a few decades on them.

^ I agree Dale. I mean I also liked some of what they did for the F/W 09 couture collection, but from what I've seen this looks like a much stronger collection, as opposed to beautiful pieces.

All of those short dresses, coats and suits look very, very right for where Valentino should be at the moment.

^Very right indeed!

And it's not like MiuMiu owns the right to cater to young people...Valentino has done his share of aiming for a younger audience as well, so even if this looks very young, there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I don't think this looks superyoung. Like I said, it's a nice balance :flower:

As a whole, it's a strong collection. Each piece is gorgeous,
save for maybe the cage piece... but I don't feel amazed like
I have from some of the other collections this week.

Some dresses are really gorgeous, but there's still some nasty sh!t,like those hideous cages dresses

I dunno about the rest of you but the whole 'Valentino aiming towards a younger market' is just wrong for me. Valentino is for women. Not girls.

Some nice pieces. Very Miu Miu with a bit of Armani Privé. It's alright. Still need to come up with their own designs but it's better than last season.

I agree with you, I dont like the whole idea of Valentino being for young girls, the brand was created to make elegant designes for women. But they do have some nice peices here, they are finding starting to take a leep in the right direction at Valentino. I just wish they would stop excluding the former clientele by strickly focusing on such a young target audience. I cant see the former Valentino Haute Couture client wearing this seeing how most the the worlds couture clients usually start in there middle 30's. But this collection is better than the last. Its my favorite once since their very first couture collection.

On another note is it me, or do they use some of the cheepist looking lace ever.
