Vogue Australia June 2012 : Daria Werbowy by Daniel Jackson

Daria will never be an eyesore and she's definitely that 'stamp' that all magazines want/need as she's such an inherent part of the industry, but.. since she's started, I find her extremely one-dimensional and that 'dimension' only got smaller since she's slowed down.. even models that work on her same rate, if not less, spice it up a little, but I have a feeling that somewhere in her contract, there must be a 40-word description of how Daria MUST look when hiring her (references to beach life, references to 'rock chic', references to past work including her totally redundant Balmain-Alt-Roitfeld phase, etc), thus leaving one or two options for creative teams..

Simply flawless. Daria kills it. That's what you call a true supermodel, the way she just owns that cover, white background and all.

BTW, is VAus going for a new look now? I kind of like it.

Daria looks beautiful on the cover and in her editorial! And I love the clean look of the cover.

I used to be a huge Daria fan, but I agree. Actually, I just noticed the other day that Daria has a new editorial in "Glow," a Canadian beauty magazine, and her editorial for Vogue Australia looks so similar to the same one shot for a cheap Canadian magazine.

Daria has been placed in the Gisele modeling role where she is constantly styled the same and shot very similar. It's always some sort of fresh or very rock and roll styling (Giseles is always very natural). Daria is capable of more than this, but I almost think she now is deciding how she wants to look in shoots because it cant be every magazine choosing this basic styling for her

Wow Daria never fails to stun me, this has to be her best cover in years, sexy strong and striking:woot:. And the edit is just as beautiful, her face is just perfection. Excited for the rest of the contents, Vogue Aust. has become one of my fav editions, they get better and better:D

i agreed except i dont think she can or want to choose the style for her eds.

i just think that when editors want something that is sexy and hip/ they would automatically think of models like her bc not many models have an amazing body like hers. and im sure if editors choose balmain to be featured on the cover then im sure daria will be the number one choice.

i definitely would love to see her in eds that are not too generic. bc she is one of the best editorial girls out there. her capability is second to none.

I agree with you to an extent. I do thing that her work has been very one-dimensional. She always looks the same, but I don't know if it's her doing. She doesn't strike me as a control-freak when it comes to her image like Gisele obviously is. Daria has always struck me as the kind of model that goes to work, doesn't give a crap about what they're making her wear, and works the hell out of everything. If anything I think it's the people who work with her who have this idea of who she is and they don't want to budge because she just has this really apparent tomboy, rock chic look. Other models who have a more diverse body of work like Natalia or Natasha don't have really specific looks or auras about them, so it's easier to mold them into all these different characters.

Daria is a dream.
I love how with every new issue Vogue Australia seems to be stepping up it's game.
Kirstie Clements is doing a fabulous job.

I think she looks fantastic. Her editorial is very simple. Very Sharp. Very Sexy. Very Australian. This is what we like here in Oz. We don't like fussy, overstyled imagery, keep it simple, clean and stylish and we'll buy it. I'd be happy to see her on the cover every month, she always look beautiful

To see Daria on the cover is like a breath of fresh air, I agreed Vogue Australia is stepping up by using top model and their strengths on the cover.

I think you are not far from truth. I remember reading an article about Daria in Russian Tatler and it said that during the shoot she wouldn't let do more bright make-up or style her hair differently, she just wanted to be natural. So it's very likely that in her position right now Daria has the right (to some extent) to determine the way she is styled for the shoots.
As for this cover and the main ed, it leaves me cold, as much as I hate admitting it, Daria's work has been quite bland and repetitive for while a while:doh:
