^I should have clarified that it was the cover with text, thanks though

I don't like the cover, is bland, could prefer the 3rd shot be the cover, because is much better than the actual. The content is fantastic.

Grabbed this for a steal online earlier this week and I couldn't be more ecstatic because Vogue China is just so unjustifiably expensive here. My first copy of VC and I'm pleasantly surprised at how the magazine looks in real - this March issue is huge! Gisele's cover story is even more fabulous once printed on glossy paper.

^ I agree, i have only few issues due to the fact of such high price, but the magazine looks gorgeous in print. Really like the paper quality, and how thick all issues are. At the moment VC is quite possibly one of my favorite Vogue Editions.

The December issue was just as huge. I only ever buy my copies of VC online and I have no problem waiting for the shipping. Same with Vogue Australia. The newsagents price is really too much for me to bear.

I bought it a few days ago, the paper and the magazine overall is amazing. It got me to thinking, if I remember well - Chinese Vogue has more printed copies than American edition and is printed on a clearly more expensive paper. Does this mean Chinese Conde Nast has more money than the original Conde Nast itself?

^ Its interesting, not 100% sure it prints more than US, but it must be the same amount (ball park). Chung said they have almost 1 million newsstands issues. So it could be that they are paying their own way if they really sell that much. But as far as the power , and budget goes, US Vogue is unsurpassed. I suppose Vogue China just uses their resources in a more creative way.

I think that westerners underestimate the power that Asia has when it comes to fashion and entertainment. They sell more and have higher quality products/production value than most western anything. Just as an example, some korean soap opera style shows look like Hollywood movies.
Can you tell us what kind of advertising the mag has? I´d bet they´re all high end products... whilst magazines like US/UK Vogue they have some big names and lots of smaller brands ads. The big bucks come from advertisements not from what a mag earns selling issues on the newsstand, those numbers serve to know how much to charge per ad campaign page.
I believe that US Vogue (much like the US itself) is living on past glory, they were influential and great at some point in history but nowadays it´s just fame.

I have a quite a few VC issues, would like to buy it regularly but like VA, it's terribly expensive. The ads are mostly blue chip, but there's a mix of average looking native ones as well. I'd say right now China actually surpasses GB & US in spending power. So I imagine ads over there are more lucrative and yield more sales than in the West? Purely speculation on my part. I kind of feel that Chinese consumers are only coming into their own now in terms of fashion. This is obviously due to the fashion industry's aggressive scramble to cash in on Chinese prosperity. Think of it, you have this wealth and all of a sudden you're inundated with luxury brands selling you all sort of aesthetics and ideals. Of course it will be daunting to develop your own individual taste. So VC is effective in the sense that they showcase a diverse selection of styles, in an accessible manner. And by mixing their models with native celebrities and Western girls they're actually blurring that divide which still persist in other Asian countries. Now about the entertainment industry I'll just say there's a lot more going on beyond the rose tinted glass, lol. And it's not for the faint-hearted.
