Vogue France May 2025 : Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls & Lara Stone by Mario Sorrenti

The lingerie shots look trashy. I think it's the choice of those particular lingerie. Just not sexy or classy, just trashy.

Okay I love Liu's shoot the most.
But at the end everything is such a waste of so much potential..
They deserve so much better

Hate all the covers. I'd call them "glorified selfies" but that's precisely what these shots are. Lazy.

Umm... does the person who writes the copy for Instagram get to look at the covers before they write about them, because I'm not seeing any "goddess" energy on the covers, but ok...

Gosh, could it be worser than this? I mean i basically love Sorrenti, McKimm (now i am really in doubt) and Lara too, however her best works are in the past era, and her current portfolio looks like a messy nonsense.

The only thing that i like here is Natasha Poly as brunette. Brunette is her natural color and it suits her much better that this corny blonde which she always dyed her hair.

In order and with arguments.

Why these glasses? It looks so forced and unnecesasary as YSL attempts to push sunglasses on each and every show past seasons (it didint work).
The composition looks like it was taken by Juergen Teller, but a bit more slicker and higher quality (everyone knows that Juergen takes photos with Iphone like few years now and you see it from the quality of the shots and the noise on them). But it`s Sorrenti who shot huge portfolio in March, are we out of contributors?
The styling - these Balenciaga lingerie outfits are so granny-ish, it looks repulsing. The rest has this tacky femme fatale diva vibe. And many shots looks like an advertising of some b-list jewelry or skincare brand (especially the one with Irina).
Location - this palace location looked great on previous Sorrenti works for Vogue Paris with Iselin for instance (here Iselin Steiro), it looked decadent and chic, here Hotel de Crillon looks cheap like a Dubai residence made in barocco style. At least the shots are making this perception.
3 covers with same composition and 3 different models it`s a take on E. Alt Paris Vogue, she made it twice with Daria/Lara/Kate, they have 3 covers and 3 inside images with different gals in pretty much same outfit. I see the references, but the execution is so bad that it`s only a signature of a lack of imagination from a new team.

^ yeah fashion’s rock bottom is endless these days..

They look like content creators who paid to be in Cannes, photographed by their inept boyfriends/photographers.

Horrible covers they look like they’re mourning. Maybe mourning their days back in the 00s

Thrilled to see Lara back on the cover, and love the casting in general. Hate the covers though.

Would’ve much preferred to see Natasha’s, Joan’s and Irina’s headshots (+ Lara’s full body shot) from the story as covers instead.

Love Claire's cover girls so far, she's bringing back top models were they belong, but at the same time I wish every cover was better. She has the names but not the quality. For this month I see more Teller/Inez & Vinoodh mash up and not Sorrenti. But at least I take this over Trochu identity crisis any day. I miss girls like Natasha, Joan, Irina, etc., fronting the Vogues. Makes me think a lot about who took their places (aka nepo celebs).

I really want to have a positive feedback to what VF do. Are these covers deliberately one dimentional? Theres nothing alive or exciting or high fashion about these covers. Natasha Joan and Lara always slay but the covers are not great...but this is just me and my 5 cents!

I love the model casting and covers/photographs. I am happy to see Natasha, Irina, Lara, and Adriana as part of this fashion story. Lara Stone's cover is my favorite.

Vogue France has become a huge improvement under the new team.
I agree!
