For me, this is such a bad issue. Franca managed a few duds as well, but this guy doesn't even have 12 issues behind his palm! My problem isn't actually the direction (well, in a way it is), but it's that he's not separating the magazine for the rest. It's once again just one exceptionally dour edit after another. Where's the variety??
Harley's editorial is passable as a filler, but for a cover edit it's way too weak. I absolutely hate Hedi's photography, but I'd gladly have preferred one of his unnecessarily long Cali shots (maybe the opening shot of his story?).
Between this coup (being chosen over Hedi) and her work for Porter, she looks set to book more mainstream titles. And just as with I&V, they'll drench every ounce of creativity right out of her to appeal to the masses. I can already see that happening at Porter.
