Vogue Italia February 2021 : The ‘Everyday’ Issue by Carlos Nazario

I don’t want to go to their IG account or the EIC’s IG account. For those who have gone to, do people still praise the covers?

Yes. Their Instagram posts are full of praise from people who want to be noticed by Vogue Italia. “I’ll buy 5 copies!” *clicks the profile* “up and coming photographer from London”.

of course they do. most of the comments say it's fantastic and wonderful, someone even said it's refreshing

Can pg cast any supermodels ? or when will Emanuele Farneti leave the eic position ? The cover challenge works are much better than these trashes!

Ok, they have honestly hit the buffer with these covers. This imo is a fireable offense!
Farneti is so out of touch, to imagine that the VI reader would be interested in seeing an intern photographed by a stylist for the cover? Is this an industry magazine now? Because then it would make sense.

I find it so ironic that he put VI staffers on the cover wearing ridiculously expensive outfits when we know for a fact that interns are paid peanuts, live in apartments smaller than a shoebox. And permanent staffers can barely keep head above water. But hey, must keep up the appearances.

Embrace yourself, there will be no professional models or photographers in this issue.

This reminds me of Alexandra’s REAL issue... but somehow that’s about to be 100% better?

Why does EF hate models so bad?

Probably because none of them ever wanted to date him.

Really though, A fashion magazine without fashion models. If he’s trying to ruffle some feathers he has certainly succeeded. I don’t know how designers would feel about putting their clothes on “everyday” people. I know I would not be pleased to see my designs associated with such a gimmick. It really goes to show how transparent and unimaginative this man is. It’s one gimmick after another. All I have to say is thank god for Vogue Paris.

It feels like each issue is a (bad) university art project.

Maybe the kind they did in their first semester and later on will be embarrassed about and pretend it never happened.

Every time I see there is a new thread for a new issue of Vogue Italia I get scared, you read the title and you just know it will be idiotic and even though my expectations are already as low as possible, I am still struggling to accept that Vogue Italia has become this utter crap.

I wonder what fashion insiders and models say about Farneti if they rave about this on instagram. Surely, tFS can't be the only place that is sick and tired of him.

Oh, f*ck you. I mean come ON! Seriously? Seriously?! Ugh!

I hesitated... before opening the thread. I hesitated, cause I knew I wasn't ready. And I was right, I was not ready. We should just stop posting this magazine, seeing as it is no longer even remotely related to fashion. Or maybe we should just put a massive neon trigger warning sign above - not for the faint of heart. I'm seriously about to have a stroke right now!

To put it quite nicely, this magazine doesn't have any soul and I frankly think that the contributors' inspiration for submitting their works is the due date.

This is bad, but I wasn't surprised. We live in the age where Justin and Hailey Bieber's cover could be considered as a piece of art in the recent VI.

LMAO, you're killing me!

But yes, bar them! And also, stop counting them as one of the top 4, they're not. China replaced them anyway. If the new editor at Vogue China democratise that magazine and once Shanghai FW becomes a thing (I predict within the next 5 years!) then the circle would be complete.

The usual atrocity that hurts my eyes and brain aside, because I am tired of saying the same thing over and over, and we know this is should be f**king punishable by the law...

Let us remember the times Meisel photographed real people for Lanvin ad and also for Vogue Italia July 1998. And Juergen Teller photographed couture clients for W March 1999. Of course, both versions are much better than this.

Surely their days are numbered? Surely? Maybe they are just seeing through the bleak Covid days as it would be poor taste to let them go now, then boom. The big Ciao!
