No one here will ever admit it, but the last great cover and issue of Vogue Italia was also the last one under Franca. You can thank Steven Klein and Madonna for that.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Boring issue is boring.

The main ed is such a miss, imo. What a shame. Such a lovely cast of promising new faces.

Please, go back to one of Meisel cover and ed from last year where he did e-commerce. It was tragic and nobody liked it.
He is great and sometimes our love for him (those who loves him) can seem unconditional but we are not blind. When he is doing wrong, we are the first one to call it.

Actually I was referring to that exact same editorial. And I just checked the thread to see if I was dreaming all this but no... People did love it, many said it was a great concept, that only "he" could come up with something like that, flawless, incredible, and so on so on.

I have nothing against Meisel, his old/90s work is unbelievably good but that concept was crap and badly executed. This, again, is also bad and forgettable, as a concept.

As for only the photography, it has a few amazing shots but the casting is average (the cover girl is amazing though), almost sad.

The two major edits are the ones by Dario Cantellani and Alessio Bolzoni. Never heard of them but it's fresh and unpretentious. Loved the beauty edit by Karim Sadli too. Maybe they should give a bit more work to these photographers and let go of the hyped photographers and the lost in time old-schoolers.

It's January and they already hit rock bottom with these uninspired editorials.

They should have called it the issue of awkward and ridiculous posing.

I'm absolutely sure that Dorit will have a VI cover! Amazing girl

Wow these editorials are monotonous af.

The audacity to call it a “restarting issue” when all concepts are rehashed.

Craig McDean’s ed is okay, if it were split into different stories. The rest is unacceptable and very flat.

A tame ADR editorial is surprising. Just goes to show how much ADR controls VJ and cant do the same for VI.

Fran and Adut steal the spotlight in the editorial for me.
The editorials are so safe, but not bad. I have seen worse.

The title for the editorial is "SEE ME THROUGH".

As usual, a lot of great individual eds but as a whole: nothing! I get why using theme was so important because without it, it's hard to see a vision. Maybe they should totally reinvent VI.

This issue is dry and boring. They seriously need to up their game. On a more positive note though Fran has a new fan in me; can't say I paid much attention to her before but I find her quite commanding in print and there's an adorable interview of her on VI's Instagram - just love her Yorkshire accent :)

the editorials have no soul, looks so cold, so distant, without any passion. Just models posing, no inner fire, no playfulness or something interesting. Craig McDean took some good pictures back in the '90s but that doesn't mean that he's still in the game.
I don't know, Vogue Italia is trying too hard.
PS: WTF are those f*cking sticks?!

I like maybe a couple shots of the edit with Sophie and Nina, but the rest of this issue is pretty meh.

I feel like Assa and Dorit have already done that edit for another magazine? It looks so familiar and I’m sure they’ve been cast together before....

I really like it, and the design gives it a little bit more personality imo.

Eds are ok for an indie magazine tho.
But this is VOGUE ITALIA *sigh*
