Vogue Italia October 2021 : Chiara Ferragni by Scandebergs

This may be controversial, but I actually enjoy Chiara’s editorial. She looks beautiful and it’s simple, maybe not Vogue Italia, but I suppose the aesthetic will change with a new person at the helm. It’s also a transition issue, so only time will tell.

Chiara's gave to me some Juan Gatti vibes. Look at the font! Reminds me of to VI from the early 90s.

i Say it today but it was wrapped on plastic. I read somewhere that from now on they are gonna use organic paper or something like this.Someone can confirm?

About the editorial his is Grazia at it best!...interesting the intention to play with the typography but not well executed. I understand this for Vogue Latam or Spain...but for Vogue Italia even if you are gonna be less pretentious, you have to take it to the irony of Chiara's Character maybe something A la Lachapelle, etc....She needed Luigi & Lango at least...The african designers spread is also poor, photography wise....you can have a "fun" more amicable approach and still be VI....There are tons of examples...check you archive Fran....

Thanks for the masthead @Zorka

I think maybe there is something different in the layout as well of the articles...under Farneti time there was a lot of ridiculous pretentious articles, im curious how is it now....

The point is you can be commercial, but be the GREAT commercial and still have something to say.

↑↑ I LOVE YOU, my lovely people!

Even Tyra would say this is too commercial and not high fashion enough

Wait, is this the only fashion content in this issue? Surely it can't be, it's October!

I saw this issue on Pressreader. Such a sad moment when you find a reprint and lots of text (like the 80s pre Sozzani) in Vogue Italia. At least it has real text, but this is not VI. It looks like most of the Vogues.

Is there any content besides what has already been posted in the thread? If not, this is a terrible first issue.

You can take a look here. It has some pictures by Meisel during Sozzani's era.

Thanks Ivano, the issue have a lots of Meisel pictures from the archive...a little too much i think....overall it seems very all over the place issue, even Vogue Spain is more cohesive (from a editing POV) and the fashion contents....mmmmm not solid enough, Chiara's feature, like many said, could be part from Glamour than vogue, they had this great idea of privacy they should exploited, the way they did it it's empty. I hope they get better with the next issues because they have a lot of work to do. And like i said, Vogue Spain have more original content that VI. They just need to find the right balance and of course they need a creative director or someone who makes that function because it's not a solid issue and i doubt Fran Ragazzi has the editor's eye (yet).

I think Vogue Spain is more solid because Inez Lorenzo was Deputy Editor, she knows how to run a magazine, Francesca was Market Director, and don’t know what’s her work was…

Well, that's why she needs to rely on her team. Sara Maino is still working there? or even on Edward, her boss, she is not eic so she can do it, even if on social media all people treated her (and Eugenie) as the responsible of the change when in fact is Edward. So they need to prove their value editing a magazine in the same level and if they don't know how, they need to learn, and fast.

Sara still there
