Vogue Japan July 2020 : Kendall Jenner by Giampaolo Sgura

*No one (minus maybe five people, including Kris Jenner) :

"Kendall is really a great model"

*No one, truly no one on this planet:

"Giampaolo Sgura is a truly talented individual, worthy of enviable success"

This is a testament to the ones that criticizes Binks. Here you see that standing there and doing absolutely nothing is not that easy lol

Kendall is a beautiful girl but she is not a model. There are celebrities that projects more emotion than her. But it’s not her fault, it’s the game.
Maybe in another era, she would have been just a runway model.

Kendall x Giampaolo... what a disastrous combination

Kendall is a beautiful girl but she is not a model.

Guys (I quoted our dear @Lola701 but, as a matter of fact, I address all of you), are you really that blind or you just (like to) pretend to be?

[The current state of Instagram followers]

1. Kylie Jenner - 177m

2. Kim Kardashian West - 171m

3. Kendall Jenner - 129m

4. Gigi Hadid - 54.1m

5. Bella Hadid - 30.8m

(...)

9. Gisele Bündchen - 15.9m

So, as I already stated in my previous post, once upon a time we had models, now we have SELLERS - it's (really) simple as that. I don't think very highly (euphemism, of course!) of Kendall (the whole Kardashian-Jenner clan actually) as well, but she is doing excellently what she is being (veeeeery highly) paid for - I have to give it to her!

Also, money/businesswise this cover is a HUGE success!

Is everybody talking about it (mostly negatively, but who cares? :D) - yes.

Is that silly Longchamp/CLYDE combo (most people never heard of previously) one of the most talked about brands of the season - absolutely!

^And that is why lots of people are losing interest in fashion.
There is no need for great models or great team for that matter because only SM counts. Good for them but if only that matters to them as opposed to actually produce something amazing and memorable, I won't buy the issue.

I would disagree. IMO, it seems as though she's merely operating in a world that her mother set up for her. Kris birthed her into fame and as soon as she was of age, brands used her as ad revenue and publicity in exchange for an it girl lifestyle and a f*ck ton of money. You're giving her too much credit to say that any of this was her own doing. And it's hard for me to applaud this business model because a) it's incredibly lazy and unoriginal, and b) it makes the demise of the fashion industry soooo disheartening and frustrating.

I know I'm not the first to say this and that it's not an issue that can be solved by a single post on TFS, but this cover really epitomises what's wrong with the industry and it bothers me endlessly. Coco Rocha girl we need you!!!

I may be the only one here but I dont hate Kendall that much. Ofc her modeling skills are lacking but when directed by a good photographer with strong vision she can look amazing. Mert & Marcus always bring the best out of her.
This is a testament to the ones that criticizes Binx. Here you see that standing there and doing absolutely nothing is not that easy lol
But Binx is always doing nothing. Her print work is really weak. I am tired of the bored eyes and ironic smirk. I find Kendall much more versatile. She is at least trying (sometimes)

When it comes to the actual cover its horrible. She looks scared. I dont understand how someone accept image like this. Nothing works here. Probably one of Kendalls worst photos.

^oops my bad. I hope she wont be mad
(I have fixed the typos)

^ I mean, unlike the Binx Kendall can be shown in different settings. Looking at the editorials in which she appeared you can see that she fits both commercial and avant-garde work. Well, whether she fits or not is subjective but in my opinion she does. Binx only looks good when portrayed in a more "casual" version. I don't see her in a makeup ad or a haute couture editorial.
I'm talking more about the look rather than the modeling skills which in both cases are weak.
Hope you understand me because I didnt know how to explain what I meant.

I can agree with you on this mostly. I have never understood the appeal of Binx and have stated so before, I probably never will and highly suspect many that enjoy her work simply like who she is as a person and therefore ignore her lack of modeling skills. Neither of the two are skilled in print. I do however find a few photos of Kendall to be visually pleasing or interesting whereas I can't think of a single photo of Binx that has done anything for me or that she's looked any different. Even when Binx smiles I feel like there's nothing going on. At least Kendall smiling sometimes saves her.
