What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

I don't like them at all sorry. But they are pretty simple so I suppose they would go with most things.

The combination of comfort and sentimental value trump my usual dislike of kitten heels Like Deborah said, they go with most things. I think they have a similar appeal to ballet flats, so you could wear them as an alternative for those kind of outfits. Wide-legged pants are one of the exceptions, as they require a less dainty shoe.

WHat can I wear with harem pants? I bought a black pair and thought a slouchy white t-shirt and some gladiator sandals...but somhow it just doesn't look right !

HodanChloe- whatcha got (post pics!)? Or do you want to purchase something? The dress is gorgeous so I would be understated everywhere else --jewelry (save for bracelet maybe...), bag, shoes...

Justpeachy- I think it depends on your body shape & the tee. [can't see your pic-it's a red X] I like the look of a fitted Tee tucked in, or a looser one perhaps a bit on the long side, left out. But if it's too slouchy, you run the risk of having the same 'shape' on top as below-something I avoid myself or I risk looking like a marshmellow. You could also try topping your current tee with a blazer or jean jacket and see if that helps the proportion and look. I think a high strappy sandal looks good. What else do you have now that might 'go'?

hmmm I never thought of trying it with a blazer! I'm now thinking to go semi smart, maybe a coloured vest tucked in with a black blazer and the pants, with some black and silver studded gladiator sandals.

Yeah, i was also thinking of not wearing a necklace since the chest area has a lot of silver sequins. I guess i'll just wear a bracelet and maybe some stud earrings. No idea about the shoes.

justpeachy - With harem I always contrast top and bottom, don't wear big loose on top with loose on the bottom. I wear mine with tight vest top and cardigan: sorry to put an annoying pic of myself in this (hope I'm allowed!)

Hi ladies,
I bought this amazing necklace last week and now I am not sure what to wear with it. Little black dress is an option - but a bit boring and predictable. Can you think of anything more casual and interesting?
I would love to wear it to jeans, but what kind of top??
I think the necklace makes a "statement" itself, so no other jewelry should be worn, right?

'Carrie' wears an overload of pearls in one episode..(so stack on any other pearls you might have) I think she's wearing a tea dress.. (at any rate you can ask in the SATC thread for a picture as one is likely to have been posted there)

You could also wear the pearls with a 20ies style dress..

If you want to wear it with jeans.. and if you like the 80ies.. you could wear it with a sort of bustier top.. channeling Madonna ?
