What do you do with your fashion mags?

I have piles. And then more piles in boxes. I have always wished I could cut things out and throw the old magazines away-- but that would require effort and work and that is something I lack... lol. I have trouble throwing things away. :-)

I have subscriptions to 11 or 12 magazines monthly but you can't find a single issue sitting in my apartment because I 'distill' them as I read. There are certain campaigns that I save in binders with protective sleeves, such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Gucci b/c I like to see how their images evolve from season to season. I also make a separate folder for my top 5 campaigns of the season, as well as 'the best of' Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Steven Klein, and Craig McDean. Also, I keep campaigns featuring my favorite models, which are grouped with the editorials they have done. I collect the work of Angela Lindvall, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Jacquetta Wheeler and, to a lesser extent, Diana Dondoe, Julia Stegner, Elise Crombez, Mariacarla Boscono. I make an annual index of the ads and eds they've done that year and only put their work from the same year in the same binder.

Of course, I also make my own 'look book,' which is compartmentalized by skirts, pants, suits/officewear, cocktail, gowns, coats/jackets, jeans, tops, resort/vacation wear, shoes, bags, decor, hair, makeup, jewelry, sunglasses and other accessories.

I put away images with popular models whose work I don't collect and hope to sell them on eBay as clippings one day.

^How organised! I haven't as yet collected enough magazine to need to get rid of any...that situation will occur though.

Wow I wish I was as organised as you LibertyRose.

I've got a pile of picture/articles e.t.c that I've kept from magazines,I haven't got round to doing anything with them at the moment.

I have the same problem, lol. I have a HUGE book shelf full of magazines and then two large piles beside it. I just don't have the time to go through all of them and tear out (or cut out) what I like and throw out the rest.

Even if I do a magazine a day, I still wouldn't catch up.

I have hundreads of mags! i dont even know where i can store the new ones!
I can't get rid of them! that would break my heart coz i have to break my wallet to buy them every month!
I mean, they're so expensive but the matter is that i gonna need a bigger place and i don't know how to get it...

I collect them and sometimes cutt them for boards , my walls, school , etc ...

I can't stand ripping them up, so I actually buy two copies if there is an issue where I know I need to put things up on my wall of inspiration.

I get my second copy at Half Price Books or another second hand book place.

I rip the pages I want out, and recycle the rest.

i cut out the things i like and throw them into a box. some get pasted into a look book. around birthdays and christmastime, i use them for wrapping paper. the rest get recycled, but only about a year or so later! it's hard to part with mags cause you notice different things when you look at them again.

My newer magazines are kept in a big pile against the back wall, and the side of my bookcase, with little collectibles, and candles sitting on the top like they're stools or something. I have way to many to put on my shelves. The older ones (over 6 monthes old) I take apart, and save the ads/articles that I like, I do what LibertyRose does to hers, put them into binders with protective sleeves. But the ones I even dare take apart just sit in big colorful boxes... as long as there aren't pages sticking out of the magazines, and paper isn't just sitting freely around the room, I don't care if they're as organized. I have over 200+ mags and I still don't like to throw anything away.

Stack them on my shelf, but it's practically breaking it ( I have alot ), and then read them again when I'm bored and have no life. :shifty:

i cut out the articles and pics I like and tape them in composition books. i donate the rest of the mag to the library.

I keep British Vogue (I have them all since 1987) and I pretty much bin the rest
Where do you store all of them?
I keep British, French and Italian Vogues, the rest I throw away.

I rip out the looks that I like and put them in a "look book" (a binder with clear plastic inserts inside). Then I throw away the magazines that are 2 months old or older (actually I recycle them). I love to re-create the looks in my book. It is a lot of fun.
