catherine is really not the best choice for a cover, but again, what celeb is??
i so miss models on the covers of, especially, US Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, or elle for that matter.

Got another unrelated question:
How many (and which ones) magazines are you reading per month?
This is my list:

US Vogue
UK Vogue
Harpers Bazaar
German Vogue
French Vogue
Italian Vogue (i recently started to learn italian just to read it!)
US Elle (occasionally)
I-D Magazine (occasionally)
Hello!
Spanish Vogue (sometimes)

I leafed through 10 (men's) in bn yesterday. I liked it a lot. But it was too expensive ($17, I think).

Really? The one with the boy in Balenciaga on the cover? I thought it was pretty bad. One of the models in the eds has the WORST skin and it looks like they couldn't front the retouching bill. And all the articles just seemed really boring and stupid. What did you like about it, Faust?

I mean, let's face it, AH+ is the king (or queen? :P ) of the mens fashion mags. Nothing can touch it. GQ and Details are okay if you're totally straight and/or a boring executive. Numero Homme is nice usually, with a range of good edits and interesting features. Ditto for VMan (though the fall issue was just okay). Vogue Hommes is usually pretty bad. But this mens issue of 10 just seemed like the worst of the bunch. What else is left?

Yes, the issue with the guy in a Balenciaga jacket.
Well, what I look for in a magazine most is the editorials with well chosen clothing, and I think that issue hit it pretty well. No half-naked guys (it is fall/winter after all), well chosen clothes, simple shots that show the clothes well. I don't usually care for the articles (and since I had limited time I didn't even look at them), but the editorials were simple and plentiful and the clothes was well chosen. There was no obvious connection between the advertising sponsor and the clothes and the editorials (which always makes me barf when it comes to V, they are so painfully obvious). Don't get me wrong, it's not that I think a magazine should be just an oversized catalogue, but for me the paramount issue is still the ability to see beautiful clothes. And really, who has done a great article in a mag lately? That overdone, inadequate article about CDG in Vman was pathetic.

I should check out Numero Homme.

Watch out for Vitals - it has a potential to become a perfect mix for a fashion consious straight US male.

Yeah, perhaps the eds in 10 were ok. I can't remember. I just remember it looking sloppy overall.

You should definitely check out Numero Homme. I have a feeling you'd like it. As for Vitals, I agree that it may just be the perfect mix.

Aaaah, I see what you are saying. Yes, if you look at the whole thing it wasn't a complete magazine, that's true.

I think we've hijacked this thread but whatever. My gripe with that issue of 10 is the lack of a coherent, compelling front of the book. The more successful mens magazines have a very clear identity that is forged in those pages. It's very important. And maybe I'm being too harsh since 10 Homme just launched, but that's where it was significantly lacking.

just my 2 cents...but i think that joe zee is doing a tremendous job at vitals and am seriously impressed...

2nd. and moreover, the subscription is free!!! I just wish they were more efficient. I called them last week after seeing the current issue of the mag on the stands. I mailed my subscription request like 2 months ago and they can only process it for the December issue? WTF?
