What would you wear to CHAPERONE PROM?

Hi! I am 27 and my husband is an assistant principal at a high school. Prom is two weeks away and I am attending with him as a chaperon. Any ideas about what to wear...I want to be appropriate, but also stylish!!

Going shopping to London on Friday and was hoping for some advice. Cannot spend more than £100

There's not much in it, but I've just bumped our masquerade ball thread for you ... as you can see, it's called exactly that (The trick is to search titles only & not use too many keywords ...)

Tiny pic of what I wore to les lanciers... I dyed my H&M dress black, and suddenly it was 10 cm shorter So I had to make it into a skirt, put on a one-sleeved top and then a wide belt on top...very last minute.

If only this dress had been available at the time, I like it much better than what I wore.

I've noticed that shower curtains, even nice ones, shrink terribly when they're cleaned--even if I have them dry cleaned. What is this shrinkage about??

I know! My regular curtains shrank too, but that saved me the trouble of having them hemmed

^^You were amazing (as always)! I wish I'd have balls like that to attend, because I'd love to wear a gown. I found one in Mango, it was perfect, but then I went for something shorter for my prom. I'm also glad that I can wear my dress in summer as well.

Your dress is fantastic, and I envy you that you get to wear it afterwards...and that you were happy with it... I only went to the ball to get drunk and I still want to buy the dress from H&M, you know, just in case

I wouldn't look at the dress twice; but in real life, when I tried it on, it was really fantastic on me! I didn't buy it, because I didn't know where I would wear it to.

Isa I love that dress,the shoulder stap especially. I would suggest it could be worn here in the UK but it's never sunny enough

Any ideas or inspiration for a dress to go with these babies? They're actually a darker reddish pink. I've got black hair and blue eyes and NO ideas for my formal! I'm gonna make my dress so I better get started soon; any suggestions at all would be very much appreciated!

stargirl52- Those shoes! I am having a heart attack! So lovely. Since they are such a statement piece, maybe just a simple black, strapless, sweetheart neckline, body fitting dress. Hard to describe!
I'm sure others have better ideas!

I bought this dress today, thinking it might work for my formal/prom. But not sure...I like the black lace overlay. Might just use it as a party dress though.

Stargirl52,those are beautifulSince you have black hair I aslo think a little black dress would be really nice,tough you can buy a clutch in a colour of your shoes,I think that's a nice combo.

frenchpearls,love the dress you bought,the lace detail gives her really elegant look and very nice thing to wear for a prom.I think that with nice black shoes and black clutch it would look perfect for you.
