Be prepared-

Be prepared to fight off the roots! Oh boy, I remember when I was blond-the memories!

My hair is naturally black and I dyed it blond. I would litterally have to dye it every two weeks because the roots would grow in and and my hair would look terrible. I looked like Madonna in the 80's.

Be warned-Although "blondes may have more fun," faux blondes have to get their hair bleached

, dyed quiet often, trimed (to get rid of the dead ends!), and from my experience, my hair started thining out. Also, it cost $$$$ to be a faux blond. You are really pretty with brown hair but I say just do it to have the experience.

Thanks you guys i will take your coments into consideration and i will tell you if i did it or not in the end!:flower:

French, the only thing you can do it try it. I say go for it. If you don't like it...change it back.

Brunette or Blonde?

Okay this is my first thread so sorry if its gone terribly wrong!
But basically im confused of whether or not to stay blonde or go brunette for awhile, i don't know how to post pictures but i can give a link to a site i have some on.

http://www.faceparty.com/veil_lumiere

Sorry they're not very good i dont really have any decent ones!

I mean the undertones. Fair is a very general description. I think you should try to take some clearer pictures with better lighting.

Hmm thats the thing i dont have any because im on my laptop. I only really have one other picture on here that i dont know how to get onto the site!

Infact thats a really blurred photo aswell, what do you mean by undertones?

I wasn't referring only to warm/cool - that too is a pretty general assessment. A better picture would show if she has olive, pink, yellow, etc... the specific undertones her skin has.

You should really just take a better picture that doesn't have too much flash and actually shows your face.

I'm most certain it's pink, sorry about the pictures i cant find any more on here!

Here's the thing Reseneace - if your natural color is blond - like in your photos - when your roots grow out it's going to look very funny...like your going bald. You have to touch them up every 2-3 weeks or so...in other words it can be expensive to maintain...and I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself!!

I have light blond hair and have dyed it brunette twice and let me tell you it's not easy to reverse when you want to go back to blond. I had to basically grow it out both times bc bleaching it would have ruined my hair. I know there are temporary dyes, but for many blonds the dark dye never washes out. I would consult a profesional first and have them look at your skin tone like the others are suggesting.

Good luck...btw, I loved being a brunette! I would do it again if it wasn't such a hassle to maintain...and reverse.

Yay for brunette!

I was a "Bleach-Blonde" for the last 10 years - AND WENT BRUNETTE TODAY!!!

I was so extremely scared & nervous but it turned out SO FABULOUS! I`m so happy with it! :woot:

I say go for it!

I`m a natural blonde, with blue eyes & very pale skin and was afraid that I`d look even paler but the opposite happened - I look much more healthy!

Don`t think about your skin-colour too much - go to a hair-stylist and tell him to give you a warm brown that matches your type (and your eyebrows!).

Come on, that argument doesn`t count - if you dye your hair lighter you also have to maintain the roots! And nothing looks more shabby than outgrown blonde...:yuk:

I went from light-blonde to brunette today and don`t worry about the maintainance because the hair-stylists picked a brown thats only slightly darker than my natural tone so when it grows out it -at least- won`t look as shabby as the out-growing blonde...and ALL hair needs maintainance!

Hey thanks for your help everyone! I sound like the same as you herion_chick, i have pale skin, natural blonde hair and very dark blue eyes (which seem to change colour!).
Ive been brunette before but im all timid to try it again, but i went and got the dye and it didnt work! It didnt take to my hair. So i think i'm going to have to go see the proffesionals!
Glad to hear yours all turned out great!

P.S My dad keeps telling me to stay blonde because its spring lol.

Thx Dear, and your Dad`s remark isn`t that absurd - I also thought that too before I did it today ^_^

Oh, I found "a small catch" - Sunglasses with a golden frame look more glamorous in blonde hair than in brunette...Ah, I wanted new Sunglasses anyway B)

And hey maybe you`ll look like Yuna from Final Fantasy 10 (one blue eye, one green one - so cool!) soon!

Well, I guess you'll find out for yourself what it's like. My hair is naturally very light and I dyed it dark brown. When my roots started to grow out it looked awful...I had to go to the salon twice a month for maintence which I found to be extremley tedious - esp after a few years.
