Yay or Nay - Hairstyles and Colours

I too have naturally blond hair that I dyed dark brown/auburn last fall and let me tell you ...I've had it dyed about once a month since then and it's not just because of roots (which I don't think are as noticible as brunettes who dye their hair blond) it's because my hair won't hold the dye! It fades out in a week! It's the worst. I have decided to stop dying it and just live through my hair looking awful and faded until it grows out. I will say one thing about having dark hair - my blue eyes really stand out. That's about it.

^ The same thing happened to me - what a nightmare. However, in my case the dye never completely washed out and what remained was a horrible shade of ash brown.

Recently, I had lowlights done and after a month they faded...I used shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair, but it didn't seem to help.

Well my hair isn't really light blonde it was when i was younger but seems more of a dark blonde now, but i can see what you mean about looking bald! When i went brunette before and my hair started to grow out it looked grey! Was awful!
I need new sunglasses too herion chick so i shuld be fine in tha aspect!lol!

I can't see the light ones very well but i think i prefer dark anyway, very pretty!

You look beautiful with either color, but the brunette really goes better with your complexion - and brings out your features!

I really like the dark... As Luna said, I think its really bring out the tone and color of your skin and eyes

In the dark one you look like a pretty ashlee simpson-jamie lynn spears mixture. I mean that in a good way too

I need a new haircut

I'm in serious need of a new cut. I have the boring as heck all one lenght hair. I still have some bad coloring to finish growing out. I grew out my bangs in 2000. I had them all my life. I grew them out b/c I thought they were causing bumps on my forehead. Well 5 years sans bangs and I still get bumps. At least bangs could hid them  My issue is that I don't know what hairstyle to get. I don't believe in finding a pic of a style you like and taking it to the salon. Face shape is more important. A new color is out of the question. Nothing shorter than chin length. I despise short hair on me.
The biggest dilemma? My greataunt is a hairdresser. I can only go to her. Family rule. She'll complain that I took up her time, but then she'd complain worse if I didn't. Bleh, she does old ladies' hair.... I've been thinking of slipping off to a Fantastic Sam's or a Great Clips :innocent: Then again, she is free... I can't spend more than $25 on a cut. I'm not made of money ya know

ps. don't mind if I have on tacky clothing. I don't like wearing good stuf to lounge around in.

I'll come back and attach an image of me

I had a similar problem.. I had long thick one length hair and SOOOO bored of it .. so, while at uni, one of the fashion tutors came in to tell us that her hair dresser friend was looking for models for an event which included 50 Japanese students watching.. Surprisingly, not many people volunteered..it was just me and a few other friends.

Anyway.. the hairdresser was Lance Lowe, I dont know if any of you know of him but he's a very nice person but he ended up giving me loads of layers, everywhere.. and I mean.. evrywhere.. the front section of my hair had layers as short as 1cm .... afterwards, my hair felt extremely thin.. and I'm waiting for it to grow out now... thank god my hair grows fast though.. but overall, it was a nice experience.

So.. yes.. what else is there apart from layering?.. but keeping the same hair length... can't think of anything else.

your highlights were very beautiful as a blonde. i prefer the blonde. both are cute though!
