Yohji Yamamoto

2004...the limi collections, both S/S and F/W, were definitely special.

and YY pour homme S/S 04 (first two pics below) was especially great.
also raf simons and ccp did the impressive presentations.

thanks lucy!...
that is EXACTLY what i was looking for...

oh---oops! that is Yohji Yamamoto and the item i have has a Y's tag, so maybe it's not the right thing after all...

:ermm:...

*sigh*

i know- they don't always do runway...

it's ok---the item in question had to be returned anyway...it didn't work on me after all...

:(

not sure, but maybe that season didn't see runway from Y's ?
knit hat ?
he had to present YY femme during couture week back then. that's the original reason he did runway for Y's during normal pretaporter which I think was S/S 03. and he was to do it for five serial seasons.

^Do you know if this is the same for men? As far as I know he showed Y's for Men and YYPH simultaneously for a couple of years, at least between SS03 and SS05 (after which he showed AW05 at Pitti Uomo). Was wondering when he started showing both lines together.

softgrey (maybe it doesn't matter now that you've returned it), but if it's YX then the season was likely Y's AW07, in which case I'm sure there's a lookbook on here somewhere that you can compare with.

^ got the official answer. according to Mr. ozawa at YY, the first joint show was F/W 03 and it continued for four seasons with the last one S/S 05 as you say.
before F/W 03, they had done some showroom floor shows for Y's for men on a rather small scale.

^ thank you for looking into it! Much appreciated. Yes, I also though A/W 03 at first (those shows always seem to be mashed together on various fashion runway sites, too) but then I saw this and to me the detailing says S/S 03 as well as the venue from what I can tell. If they indeed started in A/W 03 then I'm not sure when this is from...

I don't know well unfortunately and that's why I needed the confirmed info from them. but what I can tell from the images (I will scan later) is that what's happening in the image you posted above is the separate floor show they did for the Y's for men S/S 03. if you have some other referential pics, you'd see the difference in chair the audience was on. also from the atmosphere in the pics of the YY pour homme S/S 03 the venue might be found to be more spaceful.

thanks for the info oversized...
i will look into it...
and welcome to the fashion spot...

Yes the space seems different which is why I was a bit confused too, but other things seem to match; the wooden flooring (which isn't found in any other yyph shows around that time) and the detailing on the suits, like the piping/trimming, tells me this must be s/s 03... Hmm.

For reference, a couple of s/s 03 shots from YYPH

just to make it clear since it started to be a bit confusing, those are from S/S 03 without doubt.
I have been talking about whether they were presented separately, because the original question is "when he started showing both lines together".

yes both floors look woody but YYPH one is definitely white in a margiela way while YFM one is sort of irregular in pattern and its color seems to have been somewhat worn away ( the pics below shot from a different standpoint ). also some of what look like piping on YFM are selvedge.
