 Nice to see you're in charge of deciding how important certain living beings are. Has God joined TFS and delivered His word here?

Oh man...

I will never buy fur. I feel bad enough buying leather goods, so I either buy vintage leather or will buy a new leather handbag once in a blue moon. I'd say I buy a new leather handbag once a year. But I will NEVER buy fur.

animals would eat humans ONLY out of protecting their territory, or if they were starving/hungry, people who kill animals ONLY to wear them--ugh!! NO animal would do it just for fun;)

So you know whats going through an animals head when it's hunting?!?

have you ever seen 'The Ghost and the Darkness' ? It was based real events in which some lions ate humans in Africa and began attacking and killing humans, much more than they could eat

MOST animals would not kill for nothing they do it for survival or protecting their territory/family, when we kill a mink, chinchilla we do it ONLY to wear their skin nothing more and humans have other choices of what to eat animals do NOT have that choice so it cannot be compared. Furthermore, how do you know the movie you watched was COMPLETELY accurate were you there?

where did you get your chinchillas from? I've always thought about adopting some, but wasnt sure where I could find some to adopt, are they friendly? I've heard otherwise, but you'd know being that you have them as pets

Just wondering how many of you own and wear fur. I used to think that fur was so luxurious and pretty... but now I own two chinchillas as pets.. and recently visited a pelting factory (for a leather class I was taking) and did NOT like what I saw.

Opinions?

I completely agree with you but how did you find the way to stay away from ALL animal derived products, I've seen vegan shoes and what I have seen is NOT pretty! but if I could find some that were I would definitely give it ALL up I am a vegetarian and not vegan because I havent found a vegan cheese(I  cheese) that tasted as good as regular cheese, but if anyone has any suggestions would be VERY happy and appreciative;)

Oh, I didn't find a way to stay away from animal-derived products! I just feel that it's important to know your facts.

I eat fish, I wear wool, silk, down, leather and fur and I like it. A lot. :flower:

oh dear, sorry

Yes they are very friendly ^_^ I have two, and they just had babies a few weeks ago. I'd look around before choosing one though. As all animals are, if they didn't have very much human contact before, they will be more difficult.

It isn't easy to look at a chinchilla coat and see something beautiful when you have live ones.. although, I know, those fur jackets can be stunning.

I don't necessarily like fur. I don't know how I'd fit it into my wardrobe. And It seems like too much to care for. I had a coat with a faux fur collar and even that made me a little paranoid. It's just not sturdy, you know?

i dont own fur, mainly because its not something that i find very useful or practical, very divaesque for me- when i hear the word fur all i can think of are jlo and lil'kim, neither of which i admire that much...but if i did own coat, maybe itd be white or soemthing...

i want a chinchilla!:woot: as a pet i mean..where can i get one?...god im good at getting off topic.

... sorry - posted twice ;)

Fur is a beautiful material, and has extreme potential as a sort ot medium for innovative fashions.

Animal activists such as PETA has gone to the extent that they have adopted terroristic measures to expand their message.

Throwing dead animals into people's lunches? Spray painting, and barging into high end stores?

Not to mention acts of slander.
The point is -PETA has tried and has been trying to get the "no fur" message across through more mild and conventional means, but no one pays any attention. how are they to compete with the designers who hog prime tv slots, magazine ads etc? that is why they have HAD TO resort to this... Its not like they enjoy it
