This reminds me of nazis shaving heads for the war effort, doing human experiments, or using their skin to make lampshades.

I think it's sick to make this comparison- that's saying that human beings' lives have no more value than that of animals.

I disagree with that idea very much.

I don't know who wrote that, but I agree with you 100% Stiletto, as you know.

I have said this a million times, and I say it again: PEOPLE ARE NOT ANIMALS!

I think life is life, and we have the capability to make choices, but this nazi comparison is totally wrong. It's different when you kill your own species, that's a special kind of evil IMO.

Human beings are not animals?

I do not understand to what capacity that individuals carry out their research in order for them to make such a statement. Human beings ARE animals, it is a biological fact - we share 99% of the same DNA as apes do, also we share the same DNA as all other living animals.

Just because society makes the human being think they are not animals (that they are some kind of 'super-race') through primary and secondary socialisation is typical ignorance.

I suggest to those individuals that believe human beings are not animals go and read some literature, because you will find that you are wrong.

That's all! :p

So you're saying that humans are more important than animals?

What was that what Snowball (or was it Napoleon) said in Animal Farm;

"All animals are equal, some are more equal than others."

Human beings are animals, we just happen to be more superior because we can speak. However, other animals do not cause hate, wars, abuse and so forth...so yes other animals (not human beings) I believe to be more important - they bring much more joy to my life than the cruetly human beings have to offer.

I am repeating myself, but I need to say this again.

I just do not believe that humans are animals, it is my faith, not religion, faith, to me the evidence is more than clear.

I remeber we had an rather good discussion on this mather, Innocent Fairy, but most of it was removed (which i understand, but regret)

As someone who has experienced war and hate, I still believe that humans are 'more' in every sence than an animal could ever be.

What I am debating though, is that human beings CAUSE war and hate - animals are innocent they are the subject of the abuse caused by human beings.

True but it doesn't change my views on animals/human beings, to me human beings are 'more', that is it.

But that is your choice :flower:

This is mine.

????

This makes no sense!?

When it comes to a thread that asks whether you support fur or not, then it will be one's own person opinion, politics, view, etc - so whatever 'word' you wish to use will not make a difference. If one doesn't wish for individuals to state their personal views, then delete the thread...I think that would make more sense, or indeed - blow up the world because the world is full of personal opinion!!!!

After all, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this a discussion board?

Also...to whom are you referring to?

Obviously we've gone at this from opposite perspectives.

I was suggesting the idea that animals are worth the same as humans. You are suggesting that I said people should be treated like cattle. When that's the opposite of what I said, that's what the nazis were doing.

Anyway, it's just an idea that popped into my head. I still don't know how we should treat cattle. I just felt sympathetic toward them for a moment. As if I could go ask one what they thought and it was really terrible.

Humans are animals, but there certainly are some major differences in our brains. I still don't know if that makes killing something lesser developed than ourselves okay. We have to eat something, and all living organisms are just lesser versions of ourselves. Where do you draw the line?

I understand this idea. But I think we also must be responsible with all of the earth.

About being evil... I was kind of trying to suggest that we're all blind to our own evil. Killing cows may be evil and we don't even know it. I don't believe that head nazis thought they were evil, they were mainly normal people who believed what they were doing was right.

Again, I'm just suggesting ideas. I don't know if I believe what I'm saying.

so yes other animals (not human beings) I believe to be more important - they bring much more joy to my life than the cruetly human beings have to offer.

In a way I believe animals are more important. They're 99.999% part of the food chain. If humans were wiped off, everything would still go on. We're not important to anybody else but ourselves.

ohh C'mon, 99% of my brain growth comes from arguments like this.

Anyway I'll knock it off if it's necessary. It's just so hard to resist..

I beleive in survival of the fittest. I believe that through evolution humans have become the dominant specis and therefore we can do whatever we like with the rest of them.

That's our privilege
