I just watched that video and I feel like being sick. I'm in floods of tears. I'm a vegetarian and an animal lover. Animals have feelings, animals feel pain, fear, trauma, all those things. I have two cats and the idea of them being treated in such a way so that some spoilt idiot can walk around in their carcass. I can't bear it. I'm so glad I'm a member of Peta.

Yeah as Tommy lee said one thing is what you see on the shops and the other side its what is happening before that...

(im a proud veggy too plus i do believe we people can change things just making it public to the people who lives in "wonderland" when wonderland doesn't exist...even Indians who killed animals to wear as their clothes did it as in such a respectful way and ate them to survive same way... in our societies... evolution is doesn't apply to all parts in our society).

I think it's because being inflammatory is against the rules, and stating a dislike of fur on a fur thread perhaps could cause upset to those that like it. Free speech isn't always a feature on forums on the internet because obviously people can just end up arguing with each other.

well maybe they upset me as well and im not the only one so i think i could say something without being inflammatory...or making a war on here... i think people can talk politely and ignore what they don't like... or they can say anything to me im not gonna get mad or anything...i just ask for respect for having a different opinion... its not like i posted a picture that shocks them directly... maybe its this topic the inflammatory one and not the opposite... half empty or half full... its just a perspective matter.

It's not the view, perhaps more the way in which the view is presented. Your "fur style" is to disagree with the production and the promotion of it. Some people on this thread share that view. A well-considered personal post is worth much more than a link. A link of a celebrity talking about an issue isn't you talking. Describe your thoughts, your style. It's all in the approach you take, not in the topic. Be thoughtful of your approach, and respect will follow.

Brilliant post edie who, but I have had my posts deleted and my compassion for animals scolded with a warning from the forum staff here. In this day and age, even a thread promoting the vulgarity of fur shocks me.

Thankfully this is not a thread promoting the vulgarity of fur :flower:

The purpose of this thread is for members to express what their style wrt fur is. For some, it's leaving the fur on the animals who grew it; for others, it's wearing fake fur; others see no issue with wearing actual fur.

The idea here is for everyone to be able to express their own style, while being respectful of others'.

We're all at different stages of our own personal development, and we each have our own way of viewing the world.

My own view is that I want to choose what's right for me, and do it, but I have to realize that others are going to have different perspectives, and at no point is everyone else going to be right there with me ... regardless of whether I'm right or wrong.

PS Not only do I not see a record of a warning, it appears there hasn't even been a reminder on your account.

Just a reminder to please keep this thread on the topic of your own personal fur style. Perspectives from the entire spectrum are welcome, but celebrity opinions (unless they are posting them themselves) are off-topic.

I would like to see the discussion be dispassionate and respectful. Your opinion can be whatever you like ... the important points are to stay on topic, and be respectful of other members and staff. For example, stating a derogatory opinion of those whose fur style is different from yours is not respectful to fellow members.

This is a discussion of style, not a forum for attempting to convince others of any particular viewpoint.

I am closing this thread ... to let the moderator team decide it's future.

Rules for Fur Style posting: please read

We are re-opening the thread. We have instituted some rules for posting in the thread, they are in the first post of the thread, and I will put them here as well. We hope these rules will help keep the thread on-topic.
  • The topic is your fur style--real fur, no fur, new fur, faux fur, vintage fur. All of these are welcome here.
  • Any and all innuendos or categorical statements about others with the same or a different fur style from yours are off-topic and therefore not welcome in this thread.
  • The tone of this thread is to be calm and dispassionate. If you are not calm on this topic, please do not post in this thread.
  • This thread is a discussion of style, and not a forum for convincing others of your point of view, whatever it may be.

i personally wouldn't mind a J.Mendel long sable coat or a shaved mink coat in aubergine

Oh I've not came accross that brand of furs before... got a linky or a pic... would be nice to see as always on the lookout for new styles!

My fur style is curled up on my foot at this moment  (Cherry, pictured earlier in this thread.)

My fur style is fur left on the animal in question .

I note that Saks, Neimans and Bergdorfs have some fab ones featured on their websites at the moment too and for those that live in London the best furrier there is Hockley's which has an amazing sale on at the mo (up to 70% off)

^ The ruffles are an interesting effect ... J Mendel has the most interesting furs, I think. Though I would say this particular coat is probably intended for someone who isn't very busty

Yes, you are probably right on that point and also J Mendel does do amazing furs in my opinion.

I am not a huge fan of the ruffles on the sleeve...ruffles on the sleeve always remind me of flamenco dancers lol
