omg until I read this I NEVER thought about it like that, but I do have to say that on their website they do promote becoming a vegetarian/vegan, but about the fact that they dont protest outside fast food joints is a VERY interesting point thanks

Everyone needs to begin SOMEWHERE. for PETA they began with tackling a more frivolous killing of animals. even if they do not ask us to become vegans, so what? that does not make them hypocrits...eating is a fundatmental necessaity... fur is not. we can surely cut it out of our lives and be happy. sure we can cut out meat too, but if we look at priorities - food IS more important than fashion IMO

I think fur is cruel and unneccesary. I think it only makes sense when you live in extremely cold temperatures. No, not New York in the winter, I'm talking Canada and Alaska.

new york is pretty damn cold in the winter... then again, i'm from california

i find it extremely hypocritical when people who are willing to eat meat say wearing fur is bad because you're killing animals. way way more animals die from being eaten than from being made into a coat. And eating meat is NOT necessary unless you're a hardcore athlete. biologically, meat is very unhealthy, and you can get all your protein from soy.
i respect other people's decisions, but if you're an animal activist, keep in mind that if you throw eggs at people wearing fur, they will go out and by another one, which means more animals die.
personally, i do not like wearing too much fur because i feel bad for animals (i'm veggie) but i will in the case of, lets say, a cavalli coat cause they are too gorgeous to turn down.

I love real fur, however don't ever go walking my neiman marcus on a sunday in a fur coat, sometimes might throw paint on you. Seriously, those people are nuts. However, I adore animals too.Maybe the whole process hasn't actually hit me, but damn I do love my rabbit fur coat.

I absolutely detest fur. In my opinion nothing looks more tacky, not to mention the cruel and terrible ways the animals are killed. Stuffed in cages awaiting to be strangled, drowned, electrocuted, etc.

But I don't see this as a personal attack, it's generally directed at anyone who wears fur. I happen to be one of those people.

We can't stop people from having opinions, but we can all try to do our best to express them in a civil manner, even when we disagree.

My personal belief on fur is the same as eating meat. It's my choice, no one else's. I respect people who choose not to eat meat, wear fur, etc. Therefore, I expect respect for my choices.

That being said, I just watched the episode of Sex and the City with the baseball players, and the fur that Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing with the blue dress is phenomenal!

i wouldnt own any piece of fur, now that ive seen the horrors poor animals go through. animal cruelty is a HUGE and underpublicized problem in society, and noone wants to really speak up...fur is bad!
