Panda loves you tooThere is no overexposure here I love that shade, I saw it in caramel color on a little lamp (at least that's how it looked in the pic), I would love to find one ...
And thanks for the pix ... I love your panda bear

I will definitely look for the reproductions of the artichoke lamp. The only ones I've seen are around $200 and of course look nothing like the original. That last lamp looks like it's out of a fairy tale but was around 18k.
Looking for less than perfect items is a great idea. I've been looking for some older things I can reupholster or repaint, I've never thought of lighting since it's usually not as easy to fix but your that right no one will really see it.
Btw, all my vintage lighting is rewired ... there's an art to finding people to do that It's definitely a challenge using salvage, I won't lie to you. But so worth it, I think ... My local architectural salvage has a guy who does this, and they have always come through for me.
Another tip ... check out lighting on eBay. That's where the fixture in my living room came from, and it made my neighbors green with envy. It was also the least expensive of the vintage lighting I bought, and the seller had already rewired it. Of course, you have to wade through a lot of hideous before you find the treasures on eBay ...
The other thing I did was use Google to search for, e.g., "Deco sconces".
Thanks for the advice! I finally picked an apartment yesterday in my brothers complex, its on the top floor so it has vaulted ceilings and I'm looking for some kind of large chendelier type light.
And speaking of vintage, I just got a vintage womb chair for about 1/3 of retail. I was going to get a new one so I dont have to get it reuholstered but none of the colors it came in go with my colors. So It's nice I get to pick the exact color I want and still pay less, but I'm clueless about fabric. Does anyone know sites with quality fabric?
Just out of curiosity how do room measurement conventions work? I know 10 m is 32 ft but I highly doubt you live in a 32 sq ft apt!
my friends dad has a little upholstery shop, I've seen a couple of his projects which looked great but he doesnt charge much. They're from Belarus like me and he learned to do it there. I didnt think of asking him but your right he'd probably know best.
kanita, I love the last two pics. I have that eames chair picked out for my desk. Just out of curiosity how do room measurement conventions work? I know 10 m is 32 ft but I highly doubt you live in a 32 sq ft apt!
^ Maybe you need a city place and a country place
Someone asked about b&w wallpaper ... check out this illuminated wallpaper--apparently it has "green" lighting built in:
