Zac Efron Shows Off ‘You Only Live Once’ Tattoo
His latest movie may be bombing at the US box office but Zac Efron isn’t taking that too seriously if his new inking is anything to go by. Appearing at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan to promote star-studded flick “New Year’s Eve,” the 24-year-old unveiled a brand new tattoo of the word ‘YoLo’ in a plain font.
It is thought to be an acronym for the well-known phrase ‘you only live once,’ perhaps a statement that despite the film opening on one of the lowest box office weekends in US history, he regrets nothing.
As one of the most promising young men in Hollywood, the former “High School Musical” actor just seems to be growing more and more handsome with his years. Dressing down a dark suit with a blue T-shirt to take questions from the media, the heartthrob confidently displayed the meaningful etching on his outer right palm.
But the most noticeable part of his ensemble was the mismatched pair of socks he was wearing. Although they were both turquoise, one had stripes and one did not.
In response to one journalist who asked him if he’d checked his feet he said: “I just noticed. It’s what we do in California… maybe it’ll take off here now.”
Later in the day he greeted a huge crowd of screaming crowd of young female fans at the film’s Asian premiere. Despite being mobbed at Charita airport by 600 excited ladies yesterday, he was bold enough to brave a fan-greeting session at the Ginza Picadilly Theatre, which proved a little more restrained.
Single Zac – who dated Vanessa Hudgens on and off for some years – got up-close-and-personal with his lady admirers as they sat in the rows behind him.
The down-to-earth star was even kind enough to give one lucky fan a kiss at the screening while other received hugs. Efron told a packed house that he missed his mother and was looking forward to taking his brother and father on some trips over the Christmas season. The star also gushed about how pleased he was to be back in the country after a gap of many years
