I wanted to post some pictures from my all time favorite Yves collection, the '40s inspired collection he did in 1971.....so chic, so cool, and definitly what I think of when I think of the glory days of Saint Laurent.

Hey, does anyone here know how to tell exactly what era a vintage YSL piece is from? I have a fantastic vintage velvet strapless dress with ruffles and I was hoping the tag might offer some clues -- it's got the "Rive Gauche," a red square, and a hot pink square. Judging by the style of the dress I would say it's late 70s or early 80s, but I'm curious to hear opinions. If I can get my act together I will post pics tomorrow...
