After Anna : Who Should Be The Next Editor In Chief of Vogue?

She will be 76 in November (same birthday with Gemma Ward haha). We might witness history any time. I don't think she can still do it in 85.

My bet is Virginia Smith.

Just witness it lol

My bet is still Virginia Smith or Nina Garcia

Anna does not leave CN, she's still the boss, and still get the paycheck... So the new HoC will be relevant to her... So it won't be Edward or Carine...

In my fantasy, it should be Fabien Baron. If Vogue cared about its editorial content.

But I'm not sure if he's business-savvy enough to take over Anna's spot.

I just had this funny thought what if it’s Marc Jacobs? Like, last year was the first time ever Anna actually let someone else edit an issue which is super rare for her. What if that was her test run to see if M.J. could handle Vogue and she’s actually known for a while that she was gonna step down?
Marc Jacobs has already a very big company to deal with. The everyday life of a magazine is totally different from the one a guest editor experiences.
Deal with advertising, politics, budgets, the people is a totally different game.

But I think it’s a fun idea.

I wouldn't say that magazines are dead. What's dead or dying is the system in which they have been operating for the past decades. The issue is that those in power don't want to acknowledge it and make necessary changes. No wonder people lose interest when they can have the same low-quality content for free on social media.

there is trending on Chinese social media that Margaret Zhang will be the next EIC, not sure but seems pretty random and questionable

I am going to attacht here as well. From Deuxmoi

I TOLD YA!

And I told you already her name. (My bet is CLAIRE THOMSON-JONVILLE for sure. She will bring new energy to Vogue US. Don’t forget that Anna put her in Vogue France. On her appointment Anna Wintour said "Claire brings a depth of experience as a stylist, fashion editor and journalist, and she has an incredibly exciting vision for Vogue France. Maintaining its French character is of paramount importance to her, as is the discovery of new talent in fashion, wellness, beauty, arts, and culture. She is already off to a wonderful start and I am excited to see the title reflect her sensibility and point of view.”)

We all knew from the start. But she is a good choice. She might be obediant, but she’s bold and has a great style.

If we follow the pattern of other Vogues Head of Editorial Content, I think they will go with someone younger, since the focus is no longer in print products but more on digital.

Amy, Virginia Smith, Mark Holgate, Tonne Goodman, Nicole Phelps I think is too old for the role. They prob want someone for the long term.

Other possible candidates if they want to promote internally: Chloe Malle, Taylor Antrim, Laia Garcia Furtado, Naomi Elizee, Marley Marius, Christian Allaire, Jose Crialez, Laird Borrelli Persson.

If they want to promote someone with more fashion editorial background: Max Ortega, Julia Sarr Jamois, Alex Harrington, Tabitha Simmons? or even GKJ
And none of them have what it takes to be editor in chief of American Vogue especially on the long run lol. I mean Chloe Malle and Taylor Antrim? Please.

Im putting my bet on Virginia, it's about time she gets that promotion.
