wtf is kidskin? fashion can't be that cruel, right?
young coat skin soft and tin ......since 1888 used name kidskin .......don't buy any leather gloves or leather shoes or hats it's everywhere for years!!!!!!!!! same with lambskin (young lambs skin)

i feel its like american kids that don't know that carrots come out from the ground not from a jar 8
(polyester is far worse option sorry )

Young goatskin leather. Very soft and pliable, like lamb skin

I was joking, but that is just as gross.

I used to defend the use of fur, leather, etc because it's an art but idk it does not sit well to me anymore.

American baby goats surely know where carrots come from…

Talked to a CA at Valentino yesterday & when asked what’s been selling they said “accessories” … they said their VICs stopped shopping for a while but are starting to warm up to Alesandro’s designs. Absolutely no mention of handbags or shoes selling…just…accessories..

oh gosh no... Nothing plastic or synthetic will replace leather and fur when it comes to sustainability and aesthetic. These resources exist since the beginning of life for a reason, circle of life and all.

Consumers have yet to adopt the new Valentino

Valentino this week unveiled yet another strong and quirky pre-fall ad campaign. Shot and directed by photographer Glen Luchford, it presents models doing random things such as playing with a yo-yo and riding a horse in front of a 1960s-looking ice cream parlor. The campaign and collection are consistent with the vision designer Alessandro Michele has developed for Valentino since he took the creative reins a year ago.

The problem is that consumers are not yet buying it, retailers and industry sources say. Miss Tweed explains why.

Susanna all the way though!! We love the SASS  :kiss:

Wow, Michele's bags for Valentino are a total commercial flop, I have yet to see anyone (apart from the paid / gifted influencers) carrying one of AM's designs. I think the Loco bag is still the company Best seller and we're entering first year of AM's tenure. I bet the management thought that at least the Viva Superstar would have made it as a more luxurious 100% leather version of the Dior book tote, but that's a flop too.
They need a total accessories overhaul for the next big RTW show in October otherwise they are doomed.

Valentino Tiffany Blue with a cat in New York a’ la JACQUEMUS meets Kusama for Louis Vuitton
or Red from The Real One in Rome?
To the customers the final decision…
How much can a brand be stretched by somebody who is not its founder and while the founder is still alive?
How can a totally different style can be accepted while the founders make such a bold statement at the same time?
Is it really necessary?
And why the Tiffany blue colour in NYC for Valentino?
Is there any brand strategist there posing questions?
Do sales support this U turn?

Do we know if the Valentino exhibit will travel to Paris? I haven't seen his fabulous work in so long, I deeply miss his haute couture collections.

He's already made Valentino look so maniacally juvenile. This look worked back then, in the 60s and 70s because that's when it had resonance. It isn't the same for now. We've seen it all before from him far too many times it has become extremely draining.

Those red looks in the window are exquisite and scream Valentino. The look with the bustier - Need a red fox fur stole to match and a private equity Kickoff party to attend…

The porcelain cat is crazy someone needs to stop him.

Alessandro coming out and calling Valentino smaller is pretty surprising. I think though that there are enough Alessandro fans to keep the smaller Valentino running. I think Alessandro fandom is cult. I was at the restaurant a few weeks ago and a like 4 people in a vacationing family was in h2t Gucci from various seasons - all the top end Crystal covered bags Track jackets shoes.
