Alexander McQueen S/S 11 Paris

It's hard to follow idea of such a genius man. And she did a fantastic job!
Those dresses are unreal. LOVE it.

There will always be detractors about this collection, but having read this thread most folks here are quite favourable and I think that's a good thing as Sarah has certainly captured the essence of the brand and can hold her head up. Definitely some pieces look out of place and a little forced maybe, but on the whole it stands up in it's own right and the last dress is stunning.

Haters gonna hate, this collection is amazing. It's definitely McQueen, but she did something new with it as well. There's this one flower print that is... less than stellar but other than those three (I think) pieces that were made with those, this collection is pretty much flawless. This definitely lived up to my (very high) expectations.

she did good. and so glad there are no HUGE theatrics. nothing huge to overpower the clothes.

I have no complaints about this at all. I think Sarah always understood Lee's vision very well and it seems they always worke dtogether very closely. Of course the collection is "lacking" something since it's not Lee & Sarah anymore, it's only Sarah now but I think she did a wonderful job! I really really really love what she did here, the shoes are stunning, the prints are amazing and the gowns look interesting, too. Definitely one of the best SS2011 collections. Go Sarah!!!!

Perfect comment. Totally agree.

I love this. Paris has been very so-so but this is outstanding.

The final dress is just...wow. I like how she kept everything simple and let the clothes do the talking.

This is truly beautiful. I love everything because every piece gives me gossebumps becaue everything could have belonged to any of Lee McQueen's old collections (if that makes sense). However I'm a little disappointed by 1) the lack of cohesion; all the dresses don't really belong together, especially the last four, and 2) that there's actually nothing new here. It seems like she used all the motifs, patterns and silhouettes from old collections and made dresses that weren't good enough to be in older collections (i.e. some looks look like leftovers from other collections). Al things considered however each dress is something special.

agree 100 %. I don't feel she had so many other options, though. It was very appropriate!
